ONE MORE EXAMPLE OF TRUMP LOSING SUPPORT OF THE MINORITIES

…The Wilsondebriano’s

Trump had them in the bag, then he blew it.

The following is a true American story of a couple that had followed the philosophy of Donald Trump’s book ‘The Art of the Deal‘ to achieve their business success.  But it is also a story of the same couple that will not be supporting or voting for Donald Trump.

The story started when this African American couple, Chevalo and Monique Wilsondebriano, residents of North Charleston, South Carolina, had taken and applied Trump’s business principles to their start-up efforts.  They took what they learned from his books such as using winning negotiating skills and their motivation for looking at business and life aggressively and without fear.

The end result of this approach was that after they moved to South Carolina, they started the Charleston Gourmet Burger Co.  The company makes burger marinades and sauces and has secured distribution across the country, including at all Walmart’s.

Now where this story goes is that Monique had heard from a friend about an upcoming remote episode of MSNBC’s Morning Joe program that was coming to North Charleston.  She was eventually able to contact the producer of the program and after her introduction, she was invited to attend as a Morning Joe guest.  For the show, she was referred to as a “Democratic African American woman who admired Donald Trump on a business level.”

During the actual program, of which Mr. Trump was in attendance, Ms. Wilsondebriano was allowed to comment and question Mr. Trump.  During the discussion, she asked Mr. Trump, “A lot of the principles we use are directly from your teachings and the books we’ve read. So, due to the current administration, African Americans have felt as though they can do anything, be anything. If you’re elected, how will you relate to the African American community, minority business owners . . . small businesses? Do you have a plan?

Trump replied that he did indeed have a plan.  However, his response started with a slam on President Obama for doing too little for young African Americans, who suffer from high unemployment.  So, as usual, Trump had changed the subject, made comments about how he is going to “make America great again”, and he did not answer her question.

Things then moved on to other subjects and the Morning Joe duo of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, they also moved on.

After the show, Ms. Wilsondebriano was contacted and asked for more specifics about her history of utilizing the “Trump way” in business.

She responded with, “Mr. Trump’s biz ideas such as winning negotiating approach skills emanated from my husband and my reading of ‘The Art of the Deal‘. Our motivation to look at business and life without fear came from reading his ‘Think Big and Kick Ass in Business & Life.’

It would appear that when Trump has previously spoken about his so called political “crossover appeal”, the Wilsondebriano’s were probably the sort of people he had in mind.  Monique admitted that she had once said, “Even though we are Democrats, when Donald Trump announced he was going to run for president, I thought, ‘Wow, this is different, this is interesting.’ Even though he’s a Republican, I can say I’m going to stay open-minded. . . . I might even vote for him.”

But after watching and listening to Trump over the months since he declared he was running for president, the bloom is now definitely off the Trump rose.

Of Trump’s show performance under her questioning, Wilsondebriano said, “He doesn’t answer any of the questions. He kind of dances around everything. Yesterday was probably the nail in the coffin for us.  He doesn’t realize he could have had so many minority voters. He could have done well with us.”

The MSNBC town hall was the second Trump event that Ms. Wilsondebriano had attended. “I go to these events, and I feel like I’m waiting, ‘Please just redeem yourself.’ And he doesn’t. He just doesn’t get it.

Well, here’s at least one African American couple that won’t be voting for Donald Trump.
