IF “IGNORANCE IS BLISS”, DONALD TRUMP IS A HAPPY MAN
…You don’t want this man in the
White House.
Trump’s foreign policy would start
another war in the mid-east.
I found it
refreshing when the conservative columnist Michael Gerson for The Post wrote the following: “Donald Trump’s foul mouth is just a cover
for his ignorance.”
Then Gerson
went on to write that when the Watergate
tapes were finally released, it had appeared that Richard Nixon was also a real
foul-mouthed politician. That was until
it was realized that most of the “expletive
deleteds” in the president’s private conversation transcripts were just his
use of swear words like “hell” or “damn”.
They were nothing like Trump’s use of the “F” word while on camera at
one of his big rallies in New Hampshire.
What Trump
said was disgustingly crude when he said: “We’re
gonna have businesses that used to be in New Hampshire, that are now in Mexico,
come back to New Hampshire, and you can tell them to go F_ _ _ themselves!”
As to Trump’s
ignorance, it is not his lack of knowledge on how to connect with the masses. He has learned from his decades of exposure
as a millionaire celebrity how to manipulate the crowds and how to tell them
what they want to hear, not the total untruths in what he actually says.
As Gerson
refers to Trump, [he is] “unburdened by any knowledge of economics”. But what is more important is that with
Trump’s lack of offering language that is suitable for decent company, he is
signaling that crude and foul language is acceptable across the board.
We are all
aware that due to cable TV, they have taken a leave of absence for allowing the
kind of language that at one time would have removed them from being on the
air. But they just write it off today
as “This is the way ‘real life’ sounds.”
Well, that may be true, but it’s not what we want to hear when we’re hearing
from someone that is asking for our vote for becoming the US president.
As an example
of Trump’s ignorance, this man’s tough sounding rhetoric is just a “Trumpt up part of his bogus and frightening
foreign policy.”
For showing this
foreign policy ignorance, Trump is now proposing that the United States sponsor
a coalition of US, Russia, Iran and what remains of al-Assad’s Syrian
regime. This coalition would be for
fighting the Islamic State and the rest of the Sunni rebels. To do this would
immediately recognize Russia’s dominance over the region that still produces
nearly 40% of the world’s oil supplies.
Besides that,
a move like this would also support Iran as the regional leading Shia Muslim
terrorist nation and it would be abandoning all the Sunni allies. It would encourage the Sunni nations such as
Saudi Arabia to consider highly desperate acts such as going nuclear. And it would be a reward for the Syrian
Dictator Assad and his mass atrocities against his own Sunni civilians, which
is a major recruitment tool for the Islamic State.
Being a good
communicator means having the ability to present good ideas in a concise and
professional manner. Using profanity
when someone slams their fingers in a door jamb is considered an acceptable
excuse. But in working to become the
most powerful president in the world, professional authenticity is more
important than the use of the language of sailors, soldiers, or in this case,
the words of a New York real estate mogul.
Trump’s
authenticity is real, but it’s not in being what the nation needs as it’s
leader. He does say what the angry and upset
American citizens want to hear, even if what he offers is ridiculous and
unattainable. This is his real
authenticity.
So if “Ignorance is Bliss”…….Trump must be the
happiest man on the planet.
