AN ANSWER TO “WHAT IS GOING ON IN AMERICA & ITS POLITICS?”

 

 

Americans are mad as hell and not taking it anymore!

 

An astute political pundit that was asked on the day of the Iowa Caucus the above question.

 

His answer was  as correct as any I have heard.

 

Per the pundit:

 

"The major institutions in America have been failing the American public.

 

Neither political party is doing the people’s business in Congress.  They are all playing to their Wall Street donors and they all spend 50%-75% of their time raising money for the next election.  This is why the Congress has the lowest approval rating (9%) ever recorded.

 

One political party wants to take away health care from 18 million Americans and to bring back all the failed insurance limitations of the past.  They have also decided that “congressional compromise” is a 4-letter-word and their motto for the other party is “My Way or the Highway”.

 

The other party has ignored the nation’s governor elections and the local elections for the state’s legislatures.  Therefore, due to that lack of attention, the conservatives now run most of the states in the country.

 

Other institutions have also failed the public such as the major league sports, with their issues of corruption, drugs, spousal abuse and even bizarre controversies like “Deflate-gate”.

 

The nation feels insecure due to what is going on with terrorist operations in the middle east, and their influence on disillusioned or mentally ill Americans.  Not to mention the current public attitude toward all Muslims and immigrants in general.  Having more than one firearm in America for every American, a number that is growing, is not making Americans feel safe.

The Great Recession, housing losses, lack of wage increases, the job losses, factory shutdowns and re-locations out of the country, these are all killing American towns and cities.  Increases in poverty, college tuition, interest rates on college loans and the homeless vets on the streets, plus the increases in drug abuse, are all at epidemic levels.

 

The movie character, Howard Beale’s “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” has taken over the American voting public and that is why all the “establishment” Republican candidates are running in single digit percentages in the polls.

 

It is also why Bernie Sanders, of all candidates, is actually running competitively against Hillary Clinton.  Sander’s supporters are saying that the establishment Democrats have not done enough to make things happen for the people’s benefit.  It’s time for a change.

 

Many Americans agree that the nations is headed in the wrong direction and they want to believe Donald Trump’s motto of “Making America Great Again”.  They believe that American is no longer a great country.  They feel that the country is being run by incompetent people and that the former trades deals and foreign affairs have all been mishandled."

 

This explanation for what is going on in America and with the 2016 elections I believe is as right-on as anything else that I have heard or read.
