HAS THE “VETTING OF TRUMP” FINALLY BEGUN?
…Top 3 in GOP Debate
The media has finally decided that
it’s time to start asking some questions.
It’s starting
to finally appear that the powers-that-be are finally going to start properly
vetting “The Donald”. Fortunately, it is starting with Trump’s ideas
about replacing Obamacare.
Now, most of
my readers know that I am personally a big supporter of a single-payer health
plan for all Americans. The
conservatives always try to say how great America’s health care system is and
that single payer would destroy “The best
health care in the world!”
Well, that’s
been proven to be total Bull-Crap! It
has been shown time and time again that America’s traditional health care programs
are way down the list in excellence, and they are the most expensive of all the
industrialized nation’s health care plans.
But, let’s
look at what the Republican Trump is offering for replacing Obamacare.
As it turns
out, one of the first to finally start vetting Donald Trump and his health care
plan was Marco Rubio during the last debate.
And here was Donald Trump’s response to what his health care plan would
be:
RUBIO: What is
your plan? I understand the current lines around the state, whatever that
means. This is not a game where you draw maps…
TRUMP: … And,
you don’t know what it means…
RUBIO: … What
is your plan, Mr. Trump?
(APPLAUSE)
RUBIO: What is
your plan on healthcare?
TRUMP: You
don’t know. The biggest problem…
(CROSSTALK)
RUBIO: …
What’s your plan…
TRUMP: … The
biggest problem, I’ll have you know…
RUBIO: …
What’s your plan…
TRUMP: … You
know, I watched him meltdown two weeks ago with Chris Christie.
I got to tell
you, the biggest problem he’s got is he really doesn’t know about the lines.
The biggest
thing we’ve got, and the reason we’ve got no competition, is because we have
lines around the state, and you have essentially….
RUBIO: … We
already mentioned that plan, I know what that is, but what else is part of your
plan…
TRUMP: … You
don’t know much…
RUBIO: … So,
you’re only thing is to get rid of the lines around the states. What else is
part of your healthcare plan…
TRUMP: … The
lines around the states…
RUBIO: …
That’s your only plan…
TRUMP: … and,
it was almost done — not now…
RUBIO: …
Alright, (inaudible)…
TRUMP: …
Excuse me. Excuse me.
RUBIO: … His
plan. That was the plan…
TRUMP: … You
get rid of the lines, it brings in competition. So, instead of having one
insurance company taking care of New York, or Texas, you’ll have many. They’ll
compete, and it’ll be a beautiful thing.
It keeps going
for quite a while like that. “Lines around the states” refers to the question
of allowing insurance companies to sell policies across state lines, instead of
only within one state. This is one of a very small number of ideas that
Republicans have settled on so that they have something to say when asked what
they’d do about health care.
But as usual,
Donald Trump’s stumbling answer just continues to show that Trump doesn’t know
what he’s talking about.
The old idea
that just by stopping the state-to-state restrictions (removing the lines around the states) on the insurance companies,
this would open up the competition and reduce health care costs. This idea had been tried and it was a total
failure. The insurance companies are not
interested in leaving their assigned regions and in competing where they are
forced to reduce their premiums.
Even with today’s
Obamacare, major companies like the
giant health care company, United Health
Care, had jumped in to support the many health care exchanges around the
country. But as of today, they have
already lost over $750 million and are considering not going forward with the ACA after 2017. They have totally stopped advertising for new
ACA participants.
This is just
one of many areas where Mr. Trump is once again, totally ignorant.
Why the other
candidates haven’t gone after Donald Trump’s overall ignorance is beyond
me. Finally, starting with Rubio, they
are now questioning Trump’s possible relationships with the mobs in New York
and within the state’s building construction industry. They are also questioning his hiring of
illegal immigrants instead of available American workers because the immigrants
were so much cheaper.
According to
some of the reporters following the campaigns, the Clinton campaign has been
doing a lot of quiet homework and digging into Trumps business and personal
background. The word on the street is
that they already have a treasure trove of stuff for supporting a Clinton
versus Trump campaign.
Oh yes,
Clinton has been in the public eye, almost as long as Trump, and she still has
her issues with the FBI and her e-mails.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a number of potential strong
cases against a man who is an expert at multiple corporate bankruptcies. And someone who has been married multiple
times, was once on the front page of a New York tabloid saying he, “Had the best sex ever,” with a woman
that was not his then wife.
Trump has not
been vetted properly for someone that wants to be the president of the United
States. There are a number of legal
cases Trump was involved with that were settled with clauses where no one is
allowed to discuss the cases. The media
is finally going after Trump the way they have gone after Clinton and had gone
after Obama, Romney and other former candidates.
Let’s also not
forget the many current cases against the bogus Trump University. This is
where individuals signed up for the university and paid around $30,000 to
attend what ended up being seminars developed from Trump’s book, “The Art of the Game”. They attended the seminars, were given a
certificate and had their picture taken with a life-size cardboard replica of “The Donald”. Trump University was not an accredited
university and the certificates meant squat.
The class-action case is currently in the courts with many individuals being
represented that were fooled into signing up.
What I also
find interesting is how many of the well-respected conservative opinion writers
are against Trump, even though many also do not necessarily support those
running against Trump.
Writers such
as Kathleen parker, Jennifer Rubin,
George Will, Michael Gerson, Charles Krauthammer, Victor Davis Hanson, Dan
Greenfield and others have all written a number of articles against Donald
Trump.
With these
conservative against Trump as a nominee, why hasn’t the rest of the press and
Trump’s competition not been vetting Trump as they have usually done with all other
serious candidates?
After being in
the lead in the polls since last June, did they just now decide that Trump was
a serious candidate?
If that is the
case, then shame on them if because of their lack of imagination, they will
have allowed a dunderhead such as a reality TV showmen to become the Republican
party’s nominee.
