TRUMP’S THREAT TO JAIL CLINTON IS A THREAT TO AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

…Trump Stalks Clinton at 2nd Debate

The 2nd Presidential Debate is now being called the "Scowl and Stalk" debate.

As we are all aware, Donald Trump showed in the 2nd Debate that he has no clue as to what the responsibility of an American president is, and the limitations of a president’s power.

Here’s what I mean by that.

Trump has said that if he wins, he is going to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Hillary Clinton’s issues with her e-mails.  Clinton responded with, “It's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law of our country.  Donald added: “Because you'd be in jail.”

OK, here’s the deal that Trump obviously didn’t look into the basics of what he had proposed.

First, a president cannot “appoint” a special prosecutor.  The president can only request this from the Justice Department.  That situation was all dealt with during the Watergate investigations when President Nixon tried to fire a special prosecutor, and two high-level individuals resigned when then President Nixon made that attempt.  Congress then changed all the rules about what a president had the authority to do regarding special prosecutors.

The second part is that even if this were not the case, Trump has already said publicly that he has a pre-conceived end-result from his special prosecutor, i.e: “You’d be in jail”. Therefore, the Justice Department could not and would not appoint a special prosecutor.  This because the presidential requestor of this special prosecutor had already announced to the public what end result was expected.

Due to Trump acting like he was trying to intimidate the smaller women by hovering over her when she was talking, the debate has already been named on-line, the "Scowl and Stalk" debate.

As to the latest results of the 2nd presidential debate, the initial legitimate poll results have said that 54% said Hillary won, while only 32% voted for Trump.

Donald Trump’s menacing presence on the Debate stage as he lurked behind Hillary with his creepy and ominous smile, that was disturbing enough.  Calling Hillary “evil” and brushing off his boasts of sexually assaulting women as “locker room talk,” this was totally unacceptable.  It again demonstrated how unfit Trump is to be the US President. In fact, it was Trump’s threat to our nation’s democracy that was the most telling fact that Trump is unfit to be a US President.

There is no way to sugarcoat this issue: At this 2nd presidential debate, Donald Trump threatened to throw Hillary Clinton in jail if he wins the presidency.  The reality of this threat is that Donald Trump’s threat to imprison Hillary Clinton is a threat to America’s democracy.  Threatening to jail one’s political opponents is what happens in Tin-Pot dictatorships, and this this is a perfect example of how a failing democracy begins.

For a Presidential candidate to threaten their political opponent with jail if they were to win, is unprecedented in American politics.  As confrontational as former presidential campaigns have been, this is a first in American politics.  Trump’s threat reveals both his profound ignorance and his lust for being a virtual American dictator.

In his last line of, “you’d be in jail”,  he is outright saying that if he could, he would imprison Hillary Clinton when he took office. This comes despite the fact that there is no evidence Clinton committed a criminal act in her handling of the email servers.  Yes, there were lengthy investigations that found evidence of carelessness and miss-statements, but non that justified a criminal indictment.   The head if the FBI made that very clear.

Trump’s threat is a politically motivated prosecution or retribution for daring to run against Trump and attacking him during the campaign.

Basically, the truth is finally out.  This is everything we feared about Donald Trump. His long history of trying to silence critics with his many lawsuits, his inability to let personal slights go, and his overall pettiness.  The nightmare scenario is that Trump seriously thinks he could use the power of the American presidency to forcibly silence his critics and opponents. That’s what is being done by the Putin’s and other dictators spanning the globe from Russia, to North Korea to Zimbabwe. That’s what happens in countries where peaceful transitions of political power are the exception, not the rule.  Donald Trump just threatened to bring that concept to America.

Here’s a late news flash:
WikiLeaks had leaked an excerpt from a speech that Hillary Clinton gave to Wall Street back in 2013.  In their statement, they said one line in the speech was “…if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position,” Clinton allegedly stated this in her April 24, 2013 speech.

When asked, Hillary had explained during the debate that this was an excerpt of when she was describing how Abraham Lincoln had to uses different positions when trying to sell the then politicians on supporting the 13th amendment.  She said “Honest Abe” would use one position perhaps with a right leaning individual, and then another position with those supporting the more liberal positions.

After hearing this during the debate, the Trump surrogate Mayor Rudy has now said in a stump speech that when Hillary gave her speeches to Wall Street back in 2013, she was lying about her using that phrase in describing Abraham Lincoln’s way of selling the 13th amendment.  Giuliani also then said Bernie sanders was somehow involved with her Lincoln explanation.  I’m sorry, but Bernie Sanders was not part of the campaign scene back in 2013.  Rudy, you’re the one telling falsehoods.
