IN 3rd DEBATE, TRUMP PROVES CLINTON 100% CORRECT

…The winner of the 3rd Presidential Debate

Never has a US candidate for president such as Trump, ever challenged the legitimacy of the election

Well, according to the legitimate mainstream media polls, (not the bogus on-line polls where voters can vote more than once), Hillary has made it 3 for 3 in her debate wins.  Oh, Donald will probably lie to his followers saying that he won all the polls, but he has said that lie time and time again about the other debates.

I was surprised that Hillary went at Trump as strong as she did, but once again Trump had the problem that he always has with Hillary.  That is his inability to control his anger or stop himself from interrupting.  I would suspect that this only reinforced undecided voters’ worst perceptions of the “Trumpster”.

Both the RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus, and Trump’s VP running mate, Governor Mike Pence, later stated that they would expect that Trump would accept the final vote election outcome.  But no one knows for sure what Trump will actually decide on November 9th.

With the polls that are now showing Clinton with an expand lead, especially in the battleground states, there was much discussion before the debate about how Trump would deal with an election defeat.  Many believe that Trump is already looking at possibly developing a new political party and it having its own TV network.  It would be a more conservative, Fox-Like network that would run more on the Alt-Right controversial conspiracy approach.  Some have called already referred to it as the “Trump-Breitbart Political Apprentice” channel.

But I digress.

What was the most disturbing to me about the debate was in trying to understand Trump’s ideas for improving the nation’s economy.

Trump is saying that he would do all those things that Republicans always say and that have never worked.

Reagan and other Republican presidents have tried the old cutting taxes and regulations with the expectation that money and jobs would “trickle down” to the average working American.  You know, the old, “Voo Doo Economics” approach.  Trump even went off the rails in the debate saying that China and India have GDP growth rates of 5-7% while the US is at less than 2%.  He then said his plans would make the US economy increase, not just to 3% or 4% but as high as 5% to 6%....?

OK folks, it’s time for a short lesson in economics and some real economic facts..

Here are the facts:

GDP growth rate in the United States has averaged 3.22% from 1947 until 2016.  But you need to understand, that average percentage includes an all-time high of 16.90% in the first quarter of 1950, and a record low of -10% in the first quarter of 1958.  GDP growth rate in the United States is reported quarterly by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis and comparing the US economy to that of India and China is like comparing a seasoned, mature, professional athlete, to a weekend warrior.

By that I mean, when you look at the US economy, it is the largest in the world and a highly mature economy that 50-60 years ago was where China and India’s economies are today.

These two nation's economies are having the kind of growth rates today that the US had decades ago.  The US economy is still by far, the largest economy in the world, and yes these others are growing and will be challenging the US in the future.  But today, for the US to have an increase up to 2% from the current 1.4% would be an amazing positive increase.

Donald Trump’s bogus ideas of numbers like 4-5% GDP is ridiculous, much less impossible increases like to 5%-6%.

But again I digress.

I was impressed that Hillary pressed Trump for such a long list of his shortcomings.  She accused him of being a “puppet” of Russian President Vladimir Putin and she denounced his treatment of women, his mocking a disabled reporter and his habit of saying that “any contest he loses is always rigged” against him.  All Trump could do was interrupt her using the word “wrong” when she brought up the examples of Trump’s statements.  As usual, when she would give a correct example, he would just interrupt saying “wrong”, but he would not then offer any statement or explanation to show that she was wrong.

More than once she asked the viewers to, “Google this or that about Donald Trump and you will see that I am correct.”

When Hillary challenged Trump and his support of the Russian leader Putin, all he could respond with was: “She doesn’t like Putin because Putin has outsmarted her at every step of the way.”  But once again, he would not say anything against his apparent support of the Russian oligarch.
.
From the beginning of the debate, Chris Wallace tried to press Clinton and Trump on a series of specific issues.  He asked them what sort of Supreme Court justices they would nominate, how they viewed the US Constitution, and where they stood on abortion rights and gun control.  In each case, they both responded with tried and true answers that fit with their core constituencies.

As expected, Clinton strongly supported keeping Roe v. Wade, and she sharply attacked the Citizens United decision that undercut campaign finance restrictions.  Hillary stressed that she wanted justices who would stand with ordinary citizens against the wealthy and the powerful.

Trump restated his commitment to the Second Amendment and gun rights and he kept coming back to that issue.

Chris Wallace pressed him repeatedly, but Trump refused to say if he wanted Roe v Wade overturned, though he predicted that because his Supreme Court appointees would be “pro-life,” and Roe would fall. Trump pleased his opponents of abortion, while Clinton showed her passion in the exchange.  Trump seemed to be answering most questions by rote without any real thought or passion.

The Fact Checkers have worked over time and have given Trump a number of “Pants-On-Fire” lies coming from the Trump responses for items such as who hacked into the Democratic party’s web site (it was Russia) and his bogus statement that, “Billions of dollars had been stolen or lost by the US State department”.  According to the Fact Checkers, 76% of Trump’s statement were false, while only 7% of Clinton’s were half-true.

Of course, the big result was where after three attempts by the Fox moderator, Trump’s refused to say that if he lost the election, would he accept the final outcome?  Trump would only answer that: “I will look at it at the time, I will keep you in suspense.”

This was another first for a candidate for the US presidency.  Never has a US candidate for president challenged the legitimacy of the entire election in which he was engaged. Clinton has claimed that Trump is a dangerous man who lacks respect for American institutions and American democracy.

On this central issue, Trump has chosen to prove Hillary Clinton 100% correct.
