WHITE SUPREMACY IS ALIVE AND WELL IN THE SOUTH

…Union Solders awaiting General Grant and General Lee at the house in Appomattox, VA, in 1865

Not much has changed in attitude since General Lee surrendered to General Grant.

As it turns out, recognized American historians, especially those that focus on the last two centuries, they are not surprised about the six black churches in the South that were set afire last week by suspected Southern arsonists.  History has shown that even though General Lee surrendered to General Grant, that did nothing to stop the South’s doctrine of promoting their attitude toward white supremacy.

As one historian recently wrote, “The skinheads are not new, they have been around in the South since the days of the colonies. Nothing has ever been able to trump Southern white supremacy.”

And the latest version started immediately after the end of the war between the states.  After the Union Army troops were sent home, steps were quickly taken in the South to disenfranchise all the blacks.  But the Southern whites did use the vast numbers of blacks to illegally inflate the representation of the Southern states in the US House of Representatives.

If you consider how generous the Union forces were to the losers of the American Civil War, it make you wonder why their attitude toward the blacks has never waned.

First, the peace terms offered to Robert E. Lee by Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox were unbelievable, even in today’s world.

All Confederate officers were allowed to retain their side arms and baggage.  All the Southern troops were permitted to take their military issued horses home with them.  All they had to do was make a promise that they would no longer fight against the United States.  The event at Appomattox was so cordial that the Southern surrender to the Army of Northern Virginia was referred to as, "the Gentlemen's Agreement."

And the North’s General Grant, upon hearing a rumor that there was a movement to arrest General Lee for treason, Grant said that he would resign his command before he would execute such an order. Lee also refused to support any talk of a continuing guerilla war against the Union.

In exchange for the removal of Union troops after almost a decade of the area’s “Reconstruction” period, the South promised to provide equal rights of citizenship to all residents of the South, regardless of color.

Obviously, they lied.

Today, the average American is not aware that as recent as the 1930’s in the South, Social Security was only able to pass in Congress because the Southern whites figured out how to keep the blacks from receiving any Social Security benefits.  The Southern politicians  in Washington had made sure the original program said that agricultural and domestic workers were not to be covered by Social Security.

In the South, where the overwhelming majority of American blacks lived, they were only allowed to work in those two occupations.

The South may have lost the war, but they still kept their former slaves in another form of total bondage through the 1940's and 50's.  Not only were whites continuing their assumed superiority, they were to be the only ones that derived any benefit from the taxes that all the working blacks were required to pay.

I'm not also bringing up the Southern white's activities against the blacks voting rights such as the restrictions of the Jim Crow era, the poll taxes and the "Special Tests" the blacks were required to to pass in order to vote.

And this is the heritage the Southerners want all Americans to respect and honor through their showing of the Confederate flag?

This was and is their heritage of pure deceit, treachery, and total hatred of the black race.

Actually, there were many differences between each of the Southern states.  Some were focused on growing tobacco, some on cotton, others were interested in their many areas of shipping and industry through their access to the oceans of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.  But all the Southern states did have one specific item in common.  As the historian Ralph Bunche wrote in the 1940’s, “The only thing the Southern states had in common was its traditional adherence to the doctrine of white supremacy over the Negros”.

This is the real Southern heritage. It is not found in famous novels such as the Birth of a Nation or Gone With the Wind.  It is found in their belief that Southern white men and women are superior to all those whose skin is of a different color.  In reality, the only real Southern heritage is one of their treason against the Northern States.

That Confederate flag that is expected to finally be removed from the State House in South Carolina is the South’s symbol of that treason and white supremacy,

Hopefully that symbol will be relegated to South Carolina’s historical museum.

But they have now announced that the Ku Klux Klan is having a rally on July 18, 2015, at the South Carolina State House where the Confederate flag is currently flying.

Unfortunately, we all know it’s going to take multiple generations before the South's real heritage will be removed from those that were born and raised south of the Mason-Dixon line.
