JON STEWART TOLD IT LIKE IT IS ABOUT ANTONIN SCALIA

…Jon talking about one of his favorite subjects.

A Philadelphia Diner has actually named some new dishes after Scalia, but not in a positive way.

I will definitely be disappointed when the comedian, Jon Stewart finally leaves The Daily Show.

As happy as I was about the latest US Supreme Court decisions on both Obamacare and same-sex-marriage, I was once again spitting-nails while listening to that Italian-American lawyer sitting on the nation’s highest bench.

Yes, Jon properly took away my thunder when he mocked Supreme Court Justice, Antonin Scalia, using Scalia’s own words on The Daily Show. Stewart even used several of Scalia’s opinions and statements to illustrate Scalia’s blatant hypocrisy and dishonesty.  He did this in one case by playing video clips from Antonin Scalia's Obamacare dissenting opinion.

Per Scalia, "We should start calling this law SCOTUS-CARE. ... opinion's showy profundities are often profoundly incoherent. ... The Supreme Court ... has descended ... to mystical aphorisms of the fortune cookie."

Now this was a dissenting opinion worth listening to…..NOT!

But rightfully, Stewart didn’t stop there.  Stewart also brought up that Scalia  had said, “…the decision ignored the will of the voters.”

But I still have it in for Scalia from back when he totally ignored the voters in 2004 as he voted to appoint George W. Bush president of the United States, even though he had actually lost the election.

When the George W. Bush election decision is brought up today, all Scalia says is, “That was so long ago, people need to get over it”.  Tell that to the families of all those that died due to the decisions by the George W. Bush administration.  Yes, Jon also played a video of Scalia saying just that.

Someone wrote some months ago that the Bush presidency, with the loss of life and treasure he effected on this country, is the direct result of the actions of those conservatives on the US Supreme Court.  I agree.

And, it was made clear that Scalia had no problem in going against the will of the voters when he was one of those that voted for the Citizens-United case or the McCutcheon case, this last case declared that all campaign contribution limits are unconstitutional. Groups like Move to Amend and Coffee Party USA are today building grassroots movements for fighting to mitigate these two atrocious decisions.

Then we go to the most important item for virtually every American citizen.  The right to voice our opinions through our right to vote for who and what we believe.

However, Justice Scalia had no problem destroying critical parts of the Voting Rights Act, parts that the Democrats in Congress are now trying to reinstate.  But the destroyed parts were supported by most Americans, and Scalia and the other conservatives chose to ignore that fact.

Scalia has even implied that it was the court's job to go against the American people just because some politicians would not on certain issues.

Geeze, and here I thought it was the Supreme Court’s job to deal with whether or not a law was constitutional, not for individual Justices to selectively go after or against any issues they choose.

Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas are excellent examples of conservative activist judges that should never have been allowed to be on the highest court in the land.

I may not agree with some of the other Justices such as Alito and Roberts or Kennedy, but at least they usually have some good explanations for the decisions they make.  But both Scalia and Thomas will usually only vote for cases that support their conservative views, and not for those views and issues they don’t agree with, even though they may be constitutional.

But Scalia is not just a conservative.  He continues to utter his dishonest statements with absolutely no shame.

Scalia is so disrespected in Pennsylvania that after the same-sex marriage case was approved for the whole country, a  diner in Philadelphia decided to offer: "The Supreme Court Finally Got it Right", breakfasts.  The two new breakfast items were the, "Antonin Scalia Is a Douche, Special Scramble" and the "Antonin Scalia Is a Douche, Special Frittata.”

Both items sold out after 2 hours, and per the owner, “Not one single person complained.”

As the reporter for the Daily Kos wrote: “This man [Scalia] is the guardian of the American plutocracy and is a clear and present danger to the country based on many of his decisions.”

Kind of says it all, doesn’t it?
