WHITE HOUSE CONTINUES TO OFFER THEIR OWN “ALTERNATIVE FACTS”

Trump’s White House has its own concept of what is reality

 

Last week, Kellyanne Conway, an important counselor to the President, went on Fox News, and with the White House Presidential Seal in the background, she urged viewers repeatedly to buy Ivanka Trump's clothing line.

That is a "textbook violation" of US federal ethics laws and it should be referred to the Office of Government Ethics.

Here is the actual rule:

 

“An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity ...”

 

We now have a White House publicly paid employee that has promoted the commercial interests of the President's family members.

But that’s not the only issue with Ms. Conway.  So, here we go again, but this time it’s between the White House counselor and the Congressional Republicans.

 

Apparently the American public is not thrilled, in fact is outraged, at some of the president’s choices for his billionaire Cabinet.

 

But Ms. Conway was one of the first to react to this issue in her outreach campaign to the Hill Republicans.  However, this time she ended up running away from the Hill when they started asking her questions!! 

 

The Congressional Republicans are not thrilled about having to take “so many outrageous calls” from their constituents about the horrid choice of Betsy deVos for Secretary of Education, and with Jeff Sessions for the Attorney General. 

 

On top of these bad choices, those in Congress are getting all this heat from the nation's voters, while those on the Hill are not getting any real support from the White House.

 

Kellyanne, who really is one of Trump’s senior advisors, and Boris Epshteyn, is in charge of the surrogate team that was supposed to meet with about 100 communications staffers for GOP senators.  The visit was in hopes of reassuring the uneasy Republican lawmakers about their role in the government.  Obviously, the visits didn’t go so well.

 

Now, it’s one thing for Kelleyanne to run out of meetings with the Democrats, or even with the press, but to escape her own party...?  The word on the street is that Kelleyanne just couldn’t steam roll the communications staffers  with her examples of her “alternative facts”.

 

As expected to come afterwards out of the White House Trump administration, they of course claimed that these meetings ended with an ovation for Conway!  But three sources have told the press a very different story.

 

Conway had boasted in the meetings about the successful introduction of US Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, but the congressional staffers just continued to grill her on the record number of calls their bosses had received about the nominees Betsy DeVos and Jeff Sessions.

A GOP senator’s communications director told the press, “We said it would be nice to get some cover on this because we’re taking the heat on our own…..but there was only radio silence.”

 

Instead of a standing ovation, it was reported that Conway abruptly ended the meeting, and she just dismissed all their concerns from the voters about DeVos and Sessions.  The staffers had said the abrupt ending occurred after another congressional staffer had asked Conway about a “Saturday Night Live (SNL)” sketch that ridiculed the White House press secretary Sean Spicer.  The staffer had asked Conway if she’d laughed at the sketch, but a source said her face just, “turned to stone.”  (If you have ever watched Ms. Conway for any time, you know how she can have the most beautiful smile that can quickly “turn to stone”.)

 

But the other point of all this is that specific comment that came from the White House about how the meeting ended.

 

They actually had the gall to have their own complete reality that Conway actually had received a standing ovation.   They also followed up the statement saying that “Oh no, her face did NOT turn to stone”.

 

Yes folks, this really happened!

 

I guess this is what we should expect from the current White House on a regular basis.

 

That is, if this president is able to remain in office for a whole term.

 

Do you remember the analyst that was the first to say that Trump had a good chance to win the presidency?  Well, he is now saying the current president will eventually be impeached by his own party.  That's because they have more trust in Mike Pence than in Donald Trump.
