DONALD TRUMP IS INTELLECTUALLY & EMOTIONALLY UNFIT TO BE OUR PRESIDENT
…The president says the US murder
rate is going crazy, but this 1950-2010 homicide chart shows it was much worse 40 years ago.
The president’s views on America views
are totally from what he hears on Fox News and right-wing radio talk shows.
I love the way
the conservatives are looking at Donald Trump.
One of The Post’s editorial writers said the
definition of: “Trumpism is: all
tantrums, all the time,” and they followed that with: “Trump is a small boy’s idea of a man”.
The proof of
both of these statements was offered by the president himself this week when he
visited US Central Command, and President Trump went off his prepared
remarks to make a truly stunning claim that the media was intentionally
covering up reports of terrorist attacks.
Per the
president, “You’ve seen what happened in
Paris, and Nice. All over Europe, it’s happening,” he said to the assembled
military leaders. “It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported.
And in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it.
They have their reasons, and you understand that.”
What in the hell is he talking about? Understand what?
Then the
fanatic press secretary, Sean Spicer, promised to provide a list of such
unreported attacks. But as usual with
Spicer, he changed the president’s words to make him sound "less unhinged". “We’ll provide a list later. There’s several
instances. … There’s a lot of instances that have occurred where I don’t think
that they’ve [the attack] gotten the coverage it’s deserved.”
That is total
B..S.! Not covering attacks “enough” doesn’t come close to passing
the smell test to anyone who was watching cable TV news after the attacks.
But it does
sounds less insane than Trump’s claim before a high-level US military audience,
that the media is actively conspiring to deceive all Americans.
When Spicer
did finally provide a list of nearly 80 attacks that he/they thought were
under-reported, Spicer then had the gall to included such incidents as the Charlie
Hebdo massacre in Paris, in January 2015; and the Nice, France, truck
attack on Bastille Day; and the multi-site Paris attacks that included the
Bataclan theater. I was watching cable
news during all of those events and they were covered non-stop. Spicer’s list
even included the San Bernardino massacre, although as expected, Spicer has the
same problem with spelling that his boss has.
As with Trump, Spicer misspelled “San
Bernardino”, the California city.
But that was just another event that was covered around the clock for days on
end.
It later
became obvious that with this list, once again the media was being taken for a ride by the
head circus clown.
With the
possibility that even though the Appellant Court has kept the "stay against
Trump’s travel ban", it still might eventually be thrown out by the judicial
branch as unconstitutional.
Therefore, the
president now needs to continue to have most American terrified by a possible
terrorist attack. By making
this move using a list of former attacks, it once again got the media to showing the
videos of the attacks. This was a way to
keep the public overly aware and totally frightened.
Trump's team is saying, “Let’s keep
everyone agreeing that we need to keep these phantom terrorist from entering
our nation through our airports and seaports.”
Trump’s
unprecedented out-and-out lying to the American people about things such as
a large false conspiracy to cover up terrorist attacks. And that his inauguration crowd was larger
than any former president's. These lies just
don’t seem to be an issue for President Trump.
Especially when he stated this in the presence of the intelligence
community at CIA headquarters the day after his disappointing
inauguration crowd turnout. This is just
more proof that we cannot rely on the president’s words or assume his
perceptions are even close to accurate. The military and intelligence
officers listening to his rants, they know that he babbles nonsense. Hopefully, they are starting to doubt the president's mental stability and the trustworthiness of their
commander in chief.
What is even most
frightening is that the president thinks that America is in so much trouble. He claims that the US murder rate is off and
running. Yes, it has gone up from 2015
to 2016 by 10%. (We haven’t heard about 2016 to 2017 yet, but it is estimated at 5%
increase.) But that 10% increase is
coming from a very low base. The rates
are nothing like those of the 1980’s. (See the Homicide1950-2010 chart above.)
Trump thinks
our borders are open, when the number of illegal immigrants has gone down
emmensly because Mexico’s economy has improved.
Yes, there are problems with drugs, but that’s different from having illegal immigration
issues. Trump is talking about a tariff
on China and products from Mexico. Even
an idiot knows those tariffs would hurt the American consumers more than it
would those two countries.
In his world
view, we are losing our allies and they are also stealing us blind and his
views are totally from what he hears on Fox and right-wing radio talk shows,
and other Republicans are just play along with his insane thinking.
What is going
to happen when his plan for a wall on our Southern border starts a war of
words with Mexico while the GOP is utterly unwilling to confront him on his disgusting travel ban. And let’s not forget his
love for the Russian President Putin….?
In a recent
speech, Senator Tom Cotton (R-ARK) declined to address Trump’s ridiculous
comparison of the United States to Russia.
He instead showed solidarity with those who “don’t think our job is to make the world safe for democracy, but rather
to make the world safe just for American democracy.” He seriously seems as confused as Trump, as
he truly imagines our US democracy can survive alone, without other countries.
There are some
signs that Trump’s ridiculous and unhinged behavior has actually alarmed some
fellow Republicans. The Hill has
reported that: “Sens. Lamar
Alexander (R-Tenn.), Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)
and Ed Markey (D-Mass.) introduced a bipartisan resolution on Monday
reaffirming a strong commitment to the United States-Australia alliance
relationship.'” Multiple Republicans have rebuked Trump’s suggestion
that our government has “killers”
just like Putin’s Russia does.
It was done grudgingly at first, but these
Republicans have taken up an investigation into the Trump campaign ties to
Russia.
Unfortunately,
it’s going to take much more than these few establishment Republicans. It’s going to take more Republicans, and
Cabinet officials, plus Democrats, and conservatives outside government and of
course, the American public.
Trump’s
delusions are more than dangerous and they need to be addressed head on. If nothing else, but to prove that President
Trump is determined to intentionally stoke fear in all Americans. But personally, I believe he will eventually
show that he is intellectually and emotionally unfit to be our
Commander-in-Chief.
