WHEN THE TRUTH DOES NOT PLEASE TRUMP, HE JUST TELLS LIES!
…Donald Trump’s “Weapon of Choice”
Like a small child, Trump will
just Tweet lies, when the truth doesn’t fit.
Well, once
again Trump has shown that someone needs to take away his smart phone.
It is obvious
that within the Trump camp, some people at the top are properly telling Trump
that with Hillary winning the popular vote by over 2 million votes (so far), Trump does not have a mandate
from the American people. Yes, he won
the electoral college, but he did not win America. (FYI:
No one has won that big of a popular vote plurality, without winning the
election, for 140 years. That’s since 1876.
That means that Trump’s team members are correct. Trump has received anything but a mandate
from the American public.)
Of course, Trump’s
response was to go “Tweet-crazy”,
falsely Tweeting that there were millions of Americans that voted illegally. As usual, there’s zero proof of any such
kind of massive voter fraud. Yes, there
is a re-count happening in 3 states, paid for by the Green Party candidate, but little
chance that it will have any major changes.
Trump actually
had the gall to Tweet: “In addition to
winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you
deduct the millions of people who voted illegally,” Trump’s ego
inaccurately tweeted this last Sunday.
However, this
tweet from Trump did pacify some far-right vocal conservatives that were
disappointed that Trump had lost the popular vote, especially by so many votes.
All these lies
could down the road, cause some problems for Trump’s nominee confirmations such
as for Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) nomination for Attorney General. Remember, Session has voted against the Voting
Rights Act, and is against its renewal, and he is in support of all the voter ID laws that
are targeted at minority voters.
By claiming all that false voter fraud, it just makes the public continue to
doubt the election results.
That’s never good for any democracy and it causes problems within both
of the major political parties.
And now there
are some other conflicts within the controlling Republican party.
Kellyanne
Conway, Trump’s former campaign manager and now a key adviser, led an attack on
the 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney as
the possible new US Secretary of State.
She argues that the former Massachusetts governor was so totally
disloyal to Trump that he should not be considered for the position. These
remarks seriously highlighted the fierce behind-the-scenes battle within the
Trump camp. Conway obviously feels
Romney should not be offered the job as a healing gesture with the
establishment GOP. Word has it that she is instead in support of
the Trump loyalists like former New York mayor, Rudolph W. Giuliani. But there are others in the group that feel that there are
some former senators and military generals that should be considered for the
position.
It is obvious
how “big of a deal” this mandate
issue is with Trump as in this one day, he Tweeted 10 separate Tweets dealing
with not having a mandate from the American people. It was so bad, Trump just had to once again
spread a big lie saying that millions of people had voted fraudulently.
As usual, when
Trump has to deal with the truth that is not to his advantage, he just lies about
it. For Trump, since he never says he
is ever wrong, “problem solved”.
But my biggest
issue is that as the CEO of Trump Industries, that’s possibly a workable
way to do your business. But as the
Commander-in-Chief, or the most powerful man in the world, lying is not the way
the American people want their leader to deal with the people’s business.
This
administration is going to be very interesting to watch, but they could
possibly be very dangerous for our democracy.
