IGNORING TRUMP’S RECORD WILL DESTROY THIS NATION

…Donald Trump mocking disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski.

Trump is a total danger and a total disaster.

Yes, we only have a few days before the American presidential decisions is made.  But if you haven’t voted, ask yourself this question about Donald Trump.

"Are you forgetting his complete record of lies?"

Well, PolitiFact decided to go through all of the stump speeches of both Hillary and Donald and the results were very telling.

I only chose two categories for how they did their Fact Checking scores.

The categories I chose were those statements that were either what they called: “False Statements” and those they listed as: “Pant-on-Fire Lies”.

Here are the number for Clinton and Trump:

>>> Number of false statements:  Clinton: 29, Trump 108

>>> "Pants-on-Fire Lies":                Clinton: 7    Trump 56

PolitiFact actually went back and looked at some other former presidents and presidential nominees.  Their end result, despite all the noise from Trump about “Crooked Hillary” is that Obama and Hillary are the two most honest nominees to have run for the highest office in the land.

But regarding Trump’s former statements, do you remember this one going back to before he declared that he was running: “If I decide to run for office, I’ll produce my tax returns, absolutely.”   Every major-party nominee of the modern era has respected this basic form of transparency, that is everyone until Donald Trump.  And he won’t even release some of his older tax returns.

How about when he falsely said that he witnessed American Muslims celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001?  That didn’t happen.

Remember when he mocked, while on camera, a disabled newspaper reporter?

How about the disgusting Access Hollywood video talk, and then the 12 women that have ignored the negative publicity and are accusing Trump of sexual assaults over the last 3 decades?

How about the TV clips showing the lie that Trump had said he was originally against the initial  invasion of Iraq?

How about all the records that show he didn’t give all the donations he said he has given to the US military vets?

How about all the workers and small businesses he stiffed that did the work on his casinos and skyscrapers?

How about, if he’s such a good business man, why did his companies have to declare corporate bankruptcy four times that caused thousands of people to loose their jobs, while Trump escaped with millions?

How about how he called women “pigs”, “dogs”, “sluts”, “bimbos” “fat slobs” and rated them based on their breast size and scored them from 1 to 10?

How about all the lies that he says that he’s going to do as US president, where no president can do those things without the Congress and the Supreme Court?

How about how his temperament is totally wrong and his thin-skin is not what is needed in an American President?

How about when Trump didn’t know what the “US Nuclear Triad” was and when he thought that the US Constitution had 15 Articles?

In the United States of America, most Americans are judged as individuals. Mr. Trump judges by their group: Muslims are untrustworthy, women are weak, the disabled are to be mocked, Jews are all tough negotiators, African Americans are living in hellish neighborhoods of desperation, Mexicans are rapists and their American offspring are unfit to serve as federal judges.

If you or any other candidates said or done these things, they would have to drop out of the race or might even be in jail.

American democracy has always survived the passions stirred up every four years because its leaders always have accepted this one rule: “The loser acknowledges the winner, and the winner leaves the loser in peace.”

Mr. Trump disavows both parts of that time-tested formula.

It is not surprising that Mr. Trump would probably be so lazy about the same US Constitution that he apparently has never read. In fact, he has no understanding of the difference between an elected president of a democratic republic and a vile dictator. “I alone can fix it,” he had stated at the Republican National Convention.  How's that for narcissism?

Trump has vowed to “open up” the nation’s libel laws, just so that as president he could sue any publications that criticized him.  (BTW: A president cannot do that on his own.)  He many time forgets that the freedom of the press is protected by something that he hasn’t read called the First Amendment.  When he heard that a wealthy Chicago family was donating to one of his primary opponents, Mr. Trump tweeted the following threat, “They better be careful, they have a lot to hide!”

With all the powers of the IRS and the National Security Agency (NSA), what might such a politically ignorant man do?

Remember when he said:  I would bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.”  And he meant it!

Mr. Trump’s celebration of torture provides one answer, like his vow to kill the innocent relatives of suspected terrorists.  A commander in chief in the US system has vast powers, often beyond the reach of Congress or the courts to check them. Mr. Trump could in fact order the CIA to resume waterboarding suspects….and much, much worse, and this would immensely discredit the country around the world.

As one political pundit has said, "If Trump wins, it will be the beginning of a real constitutional crisis."

Per Trump: “I’ve always felt fine about Putin. I think he’s a strong leader, he’s a powerful leader.” In keeping with his disrespect for democracy at home, Mr. Trump consistently expresses admiration for the vilest of dictators abroad.  He has even said good things about Syria's Assad, and he has stated respect for a strong Saddam Hussain.

The fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin has invaded neighboring countries and dismantled democratic institutions inside Russia, this does not trouble Mr. Trump one iota.

Trump can also be counted on to end the American tradition of supporting liberty and human rights where they are today under assault.

As an example, when MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough pointed out that Mr. Putin does kill journalists who try to report on the Russian regime, what did Mr. Trump responded with? “Well, I think our country does plenty of killing also.”  Yes, he actually compared what Putin does to those that disagree with him, to basically saying it also happens here in the US…?

Sorry, but I don’t recall any US reporters that have been mysteriously killed that had written negative things about a US president.

Oh, and when speaking of Ms. Clinton, Trump has invited assassination attempts when he said. “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.  Although for the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Throughout American history, the characteristic of a strongmen leader who could undermine democracy, has also required a close relationship with violence. As Trump’s campaign gathered strength early this year, Mr. Trump was nostalgic for “the good old days” when one of his rally protester would have been “carried out on a stretcher.”

It is truly amazing that so many Republicans, after their criticizing President Obama for eight years accusing him of showing insufficient pride in the United States, why would they attach themselves to someone who has such contempt for this same country?  And that includes contempt for all its institutions and its values.

According to Trump, “US generals have been “reduced to rubble; the US Army cannot fight; US cities are “hell; US wealth has been stripped away by global interests; and the electoral system is one big, ugly lie.”   All direct Trump quotes.

To each of these disasters, Mr. Trump only offers phony solutions such as “Mexico will pay to build a wall” or as usual, he offers no solutions at all. He has neither the interest nor the capacity to suggest actual, workable policies.

The major publications across this country do believe that Ms. Clinton is well-prepared to serve as the US president.

But even for those voters who disagree, those who believe that Ms. Clinton is unqualified or ethically distasteful, they cannot seriously argue that she represents the danger to our republic that Trump displays.

Mr. Trump is a total danger and a walking disaster.

Only by forgetting or ignoring what he has told us, and continues to sprout from his mouth, could Americans decide otherwise.
