GOP LEADERS AGREE TRUMP IS NOT QUALIFIED AS PRESIDENT, BUT STILL WANT HIM TO WIN

…“Yurtle the Turtle”, or today, the current Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell

Republicans do admit Trump is not qualified in diplomacy or foreign affairs for handling the job of US President.

OK, here’s the latest on what’s going on inside the Republican party.

The party is trying to enforce Reagan’s’11th Commandment of not saying anything negative against another Republican.  But when you have individuals in your party such as Louie Gohmert, Ted Cruz and now, Donald Trump, that’s a pretty hard rule to enforce.

Some of Trump’s statements are so blatantly racist, nationalist, misogynistic, and religiously intolerant that it appears he has now traded in his dog whistle for a bullhorn..

But right after Donald Trump had sewed up enough votes to secure the nomination, many Republicans at all levels hurried to get behind him.  No matter what he had said in the primaries, for the good of the party, and for the most compelling force in conservatism of “that’s the way we’ve always done it”, they all tried to get their cabooses tied to the Trump train.

What is so amazing is that some key GOP leaders are making it clear that Trump is not appearing qualified or well educated in diplomacy or foreign affairs for handling the job of US president, but as he’s their baby, they still want him to win in November….?

A funny thing happened on the way to Cleveland, as Donald Trump keeps talking, Republican officials who had apparently passed the primary season in a cone of silence are starting to notice that their guy’s polls with women and minorities have seriously dropped.  Yes, they have finally noticed that!

The Senate Majority leader, Mitch McConnell. Is one the leaders to gently move into the land of "not quite, #NeverTrump land".

McConnell has said that he has reservations about the candidate at the top the 2016 Republican ticket.

Leader McConnell made headlines for declining to say whether Trump is qualified for the presidency.  In an interview with Washington, DC bureau reporter Geoff Bennett, McConnell said “Trump is not a credible presidential candidate.”

The Senate Majority Leader, previously referred to by fellow Democrats as “Yurtle the Turtle” or “Turtleman”, the slow talking McConnell said that Trump would need to change significantly to win the general election.  He also revealed what Republicans mean when they say “presidential.”  Per McConnell, “People are looking for a level of seriousness that is typically conveyed by having a prepared text, using the Teleprompter properly and staying on message.”

Needless to say, every time Trump tries to stay with this approach, he falls off the wagon, and has to shrug and say, “I just gotta be me.”

Trump’s problem isn’t that he’s just a reality show idiot. It’s that he doesn’t know how to read a script because he always been followed by ”yes” men and he’s always only “shot-from-the-hip”.

McConnell isn’t any that different from many other Republican leaders.  McConnell doesn’t care that Donald Trump is usually wrong, or uninformed, or even dangerous. He just wants him to take a break in his almost 70 years of acting like a jackass and pretend to be a politician until November.

And to make his point, when asked about McConnell working formerly with the Democrat Hillary Clinton when she was in the US Senate, McConnell’s answer was, “she’s very intelligent and capable", but the Senate leader still hopes that Trump wins the White House in November……

I have to give it to the Majority Leader for being so transparent about how he feels about his own presidential nominee.
