TRUMP’S NOMINATION MAY NOT BE AS SURE AS IT LOOKS

…The Mo Brooks “War on Whites”

Crazy Mo may actually have a point.

The US Representative, Mo Brooks, (R-AL) from Huntsville, Alabama, is usually written off as one of the crazy, southern conservatives that makes those off-the-wall ridiculous statements as does the crazy Texas Representative, Louie Gohmert, Jr .

As an example, Mr. Brooks once went on a right-wing radio talk show and claimed that, “Democrats have launched a War on Whites with their policies”.  Of course, he gave no examples of his claim nor did he introduce any legislation to counter that claim.  One opinion writer has written long articles sighting multiple examples of the Representative’s crazy statements and he was referred to more than once as the “Crazy/Stupid Republican-of-the-Day.”

But after the latest Super Tuesday primary election where Donald Trump did so well in so many states, Rep. Brooks did come up with some interesting observations.

In the primaries of the different states on Super Tuesday, in those five states that had “closed primaries”, that being where only registered Republicans could vote for their Republican choices, Donald Trump only won 20% of the vote.  In one of those primaries, Trump actually came in third place.

Now, of the up-coming primaries, there are over 1000 delegates that will be awarded from some of the remaining Republican primaries that are all closed primary states.  Per Mr. Brooks, Trump has been very lucky that all the primaries that he has won big were from “open primaries” where anyone could vote regardless of their party affiliation, or if they had no affiliation.

According to Brooks, if the states with closed primaries react as did the five Super Tuesday closed primary states, Trump’s presumed winning would not be so sure.

Maybe for this one issue, Rep. Brooks has a good point.

Rep. Brooks really doesn’t like Donald J. Trump.  He has referred to Trump not just as an adulterer, he calls Trump a “serial adulterer”, and this is just one of his reasons why he would never endorse Donald Trump.

As an example, here is what the Alabama rep. has to say about Donald Trump:

"That is one of hundreds of things that are disconcerting about Donald Trump," Brooks, who endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, told AL.com. "If the voters knew Donald Trump's background, what he intends to do as president, I am very confident you would have a mass exodus from Donald Trump's support base. And it might be his gutter-mouth tendencies. I don't want in the White House someone who in front of little children on national television uses the kind of profanity that Donald Trump uses."
It is well known that Trump had cheated on his first wife, Ivana Trump, with actress Marla Maples, and then eventually divorced his wife for Maples. The businessman has also bragged about sleeping with married women in his book, Trump: The Art of the Comeback.
Brooks says, “It's not just adultery, its serial adultery and there's a difference. If you make one mistake, it's one thing. But if you make dozens or hundreds of those kinds of deeds and then you boast about it in writing, that's another thing," Brooks said. "It's not necessarily the sexual act itself, it's the honor. I want someone in the White House who is honorable. I believe honesty integrity and honor are important attributes for president of the United States.
But Brooks doesn’t stop with Trump being an adulterer.

Then you've got the public policy issues – where Donald Trump is a notorious flip-flopper on a myriad of different issues," he said. "It is only a little bit of an exaggeration to say that Donald Trump has taken virtually every position – liberal, moderate, conservative or otherwise on every public policy issue that exists. Nobody knows what Donald Trump would do with any degree of certainty because Donald Trump is all over the map on every issue."

Asked what to make of Trump having overwhelming support among evangelical voters, including a plurality of such voters in Alabama, Brooks said he thinks the electorate is drawn to Trump's so called charisma.
"I'm quite confident that a lot of voters are enamored by the personality and entertainment nature of the Donald trump campaign, and I am firmly convinced that 12-18 months from now, when the reality of a Donald Trump vote sets in, a very large segment of Donald Trump voters will be very angry at what their candidate is doing and [will] be very regretful of voting for Donald Trump," Brooks said.
"I will not publicly support, or endorse with my reputation, someone who I know to have such huge character flaws and who is dishonest," the congressman said. "I only endorse candidates who I believe are superior for a particular reason. So if Donald Trump is our nominee, I will sit back, watch and learn."

For this “Crazy/Stupid Republican-of-the-Day,” Rep. Mo Brooks may actually have his head on straight about Trump.  And his idea of what could happen in those states with “closed primaries” his projections of Trump not doing so well in those states could be correct.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.
