PLANNING FOR THE INVASION OF IRAQ BEGAN BACK IN 1997

…Some effects of the invasion of Iraq

Lying us into a middle-east war was just the ‘tip of the iceberg’.

It has gotten to be “old news”, but we do continue to hear about how the Bush administration lied America into the invasion of Iraq. 

Yes, we now also realize that back then, we were still feeling the effects of the 2001, 9/11 attack on the twin-towers; the Pentagon; and the heroic passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in a Pennsylvania field, instead of into the White House or the Capital building. 

And it was under these conditions that we heard the following from our own president in a national address in September, only one year later:

"The Iraqi regime possesses biological and chemical weapons, is rebuilding the facilities to make more and, according to the British government, could launch a biological or chemical attack in as little as 45 minutes after the order is given. The regime has long-standing and continuing ties to terrorist groups, and there are al Qaeda terrorists inside Iraq. This regime is seeking a nuclear bomb, and with fissile material could build one within a year."

What most Americans don’t realize is that all the way back in 1997, an organization called "Project for the New American Century" (PNAC) was founded by the chief propagandist for the super-conservative paper, The Weekly Standard, Mr. William Kristol.  He also became the Chairman of PNAC.  The organization’s purpose was for developing “an aggressive military plan for US world domination” during the coming century.  This approach was to be accomplished by waging "multiple simultaneous large-scale wars" in the middle-east. 

 

And all this was to start with the invasion of Iraq.  

You see, in PNAC’s opinion, the previous president Bush had not finish the job in the first Gulf War in Iraq, so Iraq was the obvious first choice for beginning the achievement of PNAC’s ultimate world domination goals.

Yep, these war-mongers seriously wanted the US to become the next world empire, as was the Roman Empire and was the basis of Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich dreams of world power.

To make all of this happen was to be directed and manipulated by PNAC's leadership.  That leadership group included: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Elliot Abrams, Lewis Libby, John Bolton, among many others.  

 

With the election of the first term of the Bush/Cheney administration, Dick Cheney would take all of PNAC with him into the White House.   (You will notice that many of this leadership group are current foreign advisors to Jeb Bush.)

The point of making you aware of all this is that the propaganda campaign for the invasion of Iraq was hatched, well before Dubya Bush was ever elected.  He truly was the obvious fall guy they had chosen to hide behind, while they carried out all of PNAC’s goals.  (Using Google can help you confirm what I am saying here.)

Today, this is all being lost, as Jeb Bush tries to explain away or rationalize his brother's disgusting legacy. Many of us with continuing memories concluded long ago that Jeb's big brother had deliberately cherry-picked his intelligence for guiding us into a pointless war.  One that resulted in pointless maiming and pointless deaths of our own soldiers and close to a million Iraqi civilians. 

The other result that we are now having to live with is the pointless rise of a savage cult of terrorists we now call the “Islamic State” or ISIL.

Although many Americans, especially the conservatives and the GOP, they don't want to face up to it, this is the truth.

As one opinion writer put it, “There may be a competing narrative, and it may be political ‘spin,’ but there really can only be one truth.  And Jeb Bush and the secretive Billionaires who hope to install him as the country's next President know that truth.”  

 

Unfortunately for Jeb, and fortunately for most Americans, it is appearing that perhaps the country has not forgotten what happened the last time a Bush occupied the White House.

When Jeb recently said he'd rely on his trusted brother for foreign policy advice, that is making a point and is just making things that much worse for Jeb.

There is unfortunately, an even more heinous aspect to what Jeb's "trusted big brother" did, and this aspect should not be allowed to escape in the usual short-memory of American voters.

Now, we are all aware that America has been lied into wars before, (We all remember Vietnam), and with similar disastrous results.  

But this George W. Bush did something far worse than just lie us into a war.  It was the way he did it, by holding a gun to every Americans' head and threatening to pull the trigger.

This President Bush and his White House cronies did it by holding all of us hostage to a twisted false ideology that demanded the Iraq invasion. 

In many ways, this president, and especially his vice president, they both continued to threaten the American public just as a terrorist would when holding a hostage.   This administration told us time and time again that if we didn't do what he said, we all risked be killed “by the mushroom cloud” or a chemical WMD.  A WMD that we much later were told never even existed.   And we now know that there were individuals in this Bush administration that knew that Saddam Hussein had many months before abandoned his WMD and nuclear program in Iraq.

Yes, it was all a hoax.

The following question should now be for all Americans.

“Just what makes us think that we can trust this Bush family member, one that is selecting many of the same advisors that his brother and father relied on, to do anything different from his older brother?”

This younger Bush is now saying that his big brother had nothing to do with the forming of the terrorist groups, ISIL and AIQ: (al Qaeda in Iraq).  Really?

So, I now hope the voters just remember the old saying: “Blood is thicker than water”.
