MORE FALSEHOODS FROM A GOP US REPRESENTATIVE

…McMorris Rodgers is A Republican Representative with a nice smile, but she speaks with a forked-tongue.

Lies, lies and more lies from the Republican leadership about Obamacare.

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers is a GOP US Representative from Washington state.  She is also the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress who currently serves as the Chairman of the House Republican Conference.  (Since there are only 22 Republican congresswomen out of 435 seats, Ms. McMorris-Rodgers is usually seen positioned just behind Speaker Boehner in all the press conferences.)

I’m writing this particular column to note the response this Congresswoman received when she asked her constituents to send her their "Obamacare Nightmares”.  Ms. McMorris-Rodgers even went to the point of calling a press conference where she presented several of those so called Obamacare horror stories which it was assumed had been sent directly to her.

The reality is that they did not come from her constituents.  The horror stories were all lifted directly from the House Republican Leadership Website, which was posted days before her press conference.  The other area that no one was told about was that, “of the thousands of positive comments that were sent to the congressperson, only five were so called horror stories”.  In fact, of the thousands of positive comments on the McMorris-Rodgers Facebook page, at the time I checked it, there were already 2,747 “Likes”, and 4,808 “Shares”.

And, in many cases, the so called horror stories were not a problem because of Obamacare.  They were due to the Republican mismanagement of a state or the poor quality of the individual’s previous insurance policy.

As examples, Sandra P. in Augusta, GA wrote: “I am a 62 year old widow and only make $8.79 an hour. I have lost my insurance coverage and cannot afford to pay for this.“   It was later pointed out that: “Obamacare hasn't failed "Sandra P.", her Republican governor and legislature failed her by refusing to expand the state’s Medicaid coverage which would have covered her.”

Mr. Robert S. from Durham, NC wrote: “I received a letter last week telling me that my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance will be canceled.”  As Rachael Maddow on MSNBC and others have noted, these were some of the total junk plans that Obamacare shut down.  This was because the companies took the subscribers money for plans that offered bogus coverage.  The subscriber was just being taken to the cleaners.

So, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers completely and totally disregarded the positive comments of her own constituents.  She then had the gall to hold a press conference touting misleading or outright false stories as the basis for wanting to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would take away affordable insurance from both her constituents and millions of Americans nationwide.

Even her own local newspaper did a complete report on her bogus press conference and it noted that her constituents were also taking note.

The local paper also made it clear that this congresswoman represents a district with higher-than-national average unemployment.  In addition, it has a greater percentage of people receiving food stamps, and the district's income levels are lower than the national average.

Unfortunately, this Republican representative holds what is considered a “safe-seat” for the Republicans and she is considered a real “comer in Congress”.

If McMorris-Rodgers keeps doing things such as this, and if the media continues to show what she is trying to do, perhaps her seat won’t continue to be such a “safe-seat”….?

The reality is that this so called “Good Congresswoman” is definitely not working for the best interests of her own constituents.
