HERE'S THE PROOF OF WHICH POLITICAL PARTY IS WORKING FOR ME
Just showing that the GOP is for
corporations and the Dems are for the people.
I’m really
getting fed up with all the arrows being shot at this administration for their
so called lack of leadership as the looser Hawk, Senator John McCain, has been doing. Let’s just take a look at some of what this
president has done for the people and with virtually no help from the other
side of the aisle.
·
Brought
America back from the worst financial failures which were started under two
Bush war-mongering administrations.
·
Stopping one
war, dialing down another. (And by the way, to the looser Mitt Romney’s
“I told you so” for the US not staying longer in Iraq to quell the current
civil war. Just forget that
the American public was against staying and anyway, the Iraqi’s said “no”.)
·
Getting Osama
bin Laden after 10 years of Bush-Cheney failures.
·
Stopping over
600,000 job losses and adding new jobs every month starting 6 months after
taking office. (9.7 million jobs added
in 52 straight months under President Obama)
·
Wall Street was at 6500 at the end of 2008, but it
closed last month at 17,000, highest closing # ever.
·
Due to
Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act now says 8 million more Americans have
insurance than one year ago.
·
Obamacare will
not kill jobs. In fact,
the CBO says the ACA will free people, young and old, to pursue careers or
retirement without them having to worry about health coverage.
·
Wall Street reformed
under Obama’s Dodd-Frank Bill
·
Saving US Auto Industry (And
no Mitt, not by letting it go bankrupt.)
·
Setting higher
auto fuel efficiency rules.
·
Getting Hosni
Mubarak to step down in Egypt after 30 years of a severe dictatorship.
·
Stopped
Bush-Cheney torture programs.
·
Took the banks
out of the expensive student-loan programs.
·
Pushed
renewable technology and renewable power programs.
·
Increased US
Vets budget 16%
·
New GI Bill of
$78 Billion for Vet’s tuition over next 10 years.
·
Increased
sanctions on Iran
·
Closed dirty
US power plants.
·
Signed equal
pay laws bill. (Lilly Ledbetter Bill)
·
Saved two
liberal seats on US Supreme Court
·
New FDA Food
Safety System
·
Killed
expensive F22 program (Planes cost $358 Mil. each.)
·
Signed
Children’s Health Insurance “CHIP” bill
·
Extended Stem
Cell Research
·
Extended Hate
Crimes Prevention Act
·
Pushed for
K-12 Next Generation School Tests
·
Let 1970’s
Space Shuttle Die
·
Killed Bloated
US Bush Moon Mission for private investors
·
Cut Reagan
Star Wars Missile Program
·
Transferred
focus from Russia to Iran & No Korea Nuclear Programs
·
New START
Treaty
·
Made Federal
Agencies to become more “Green
·
Increased
Wilderness & Watershed Protection
·
Tripled
AmeriCorps
Needless to
say, this is not all of what Obama has done, but he definitely has not been
indecisive or lame as those in the GOP
and on Fox News have been saying.
Obama also has
not been sitting on his hands as those that are apparently vying for the GOP’s 2016 nomination have been saying.
Based on
comments over the past week from the likes of Rand Paul, Chris Christie and
Governor Rick Perry, they have already started their shots at the president and
at each other in “Going for the Gold” for
the 2016 support of their political base.
Apparently
there’s a contest among Republicans to see who can be more shameless and
irresponsible in criticizing President Obama and his foreign policy.
Where in the
hell did Chris Christie, the New Jersey governor get that, “the unrest you see in the Middle East is
caused in some measure, not completely, but in some measure, by the fact that
this president has not acted in a decisive, consistent way.”
Christie is
accusing President Obama for actually being responsible “in some measure” for the violence between Israelis and
Palestinians, Sunnis and Shiites, dictators and rebels. I agree with the Washington Post opinion writer, Eugene
Robinson, that “…those “conflicts and
antagonisms that began, I seem to recall, well before Obama took office in
January 2009.” Maybe by about 1300
years?
But, did
Christie offer any specific ideas about what Obama should be doing
differently. Of course not.
Christie said,
“The president should be trying to bring
stability to that region by having America be a forceful voice in favor of a
democracy like Israel and be condemning, in the strongest terms and in actions,
the things that are being done by Hamas against Israel.”
And the
president and the current Secretary of State have already done exactly that.
When Christie
was asked if Obama should take some kind of military action in the region,
Christie immediately answered, “I’m not
going to give opinions on that. I’m not the president.” You certainly are not the president, but you
should at least have an opinion.
Again I agree
with Mr. Robinson who wrote, “Very
helpful, Governor. Please return to your intensive study of traffic patterns on
the George Washington Bridge.”
All they know is how to criticize as they have no ideas about how to govern....?
All they know is how to criticize as they have no ideas about how to govern....?
However, it will be very interesting to watch the Hawkish Texas Governor, Rick Perry, as he and
the more Isolationist, Rand Paul go at it.
I thought Paul
was probably correct when he wrote an op-ed in Politico about Governor
Perry, saying that, “apparently his [Perry's] new glasses
haven’t altered his perception of the world, or allowed him to see it any more
clearly.” This was all in response
to Governor Perry’s who sees Senator Paul’s isolationist policies as a
potentially grave threat to the US national security.
Perry had also written an op-ed in the Washington Post saying that President Obama had, “confused leadership and passivity that enabled groups such as the Islamic State to grow.”
Perry had also written an op-ed in the Washington Post saying that President Obama had, “confused leadership and passivity that enabled groups such as the Islamic State to grow.”
Perry said “the window to shape events for the better
passed years ago.”
Of course,
there was no hint of what Obama did wrong or what he should have done…?
I had hoped that Governor Perry’s new heavy framed glasses and his no longer wearing cowboy boots was a signal that he was a bit brighter and more aware than he had appeared in the past. Apparently, those changes were all for visual effect, kind of like putting, “lipstick on a pig”. No matter what.....it’s still a pig.

As I wrote
back in 2008, it would be nice to compare the actions and plans of one
political party against the other. But
as it was then, other than believing in putting government into people’s
bedrooms, being against all abortions and generally being war mongers and in
support of all corporations, I have no idea what the Republicans ideas are in
being in support of people like me, the average American citizen..?
Looking at
what Obama’s administration as done to date, I know that he works for me and
his list of achievements makes that crystal clear.
When will the GOP understand that we Americans need to
know why they think the American people should elect Republicans that are
nothing but “do nothing” politicians?
