WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO PUNISH THE FORMER PRESIDENT’S ACTIONS

…This chaos must not be allowed to not be dealt with

Trump’s supporters are still being told their mob was doing right, on January 6th

Some of my readers are asking in so many words, “We hear what you are saying about what happened on January 6th, but what is your point?”

As I said, it doesn’t take a fortune teller to see that Trump and his supporters will again try to subvert the U.S. Constitution, and to subvert the  House Select Committee from successfully investigating the January 6th event.  That day of violence against the legal, free and fair, transfer of the nation’s presidential leadership.

It is very obvious that Donald Trump doesn’t want the story told about what he did that day, and what he failed to do.  All of this, as his mob of supporters assembled and forced their way into the Capitol.  They then left in their wake, a trashed and desecrated Capitol and a number of battered bodies of the Capitol Hill Police

Trump wants to ward off any disclosures about his actions and the actions of his virtual gangsters that were openly meeting in the Willard Hotel.  Also, their schemes on behalf of his unconstitutional power grab.  This included their efforts to block legal certification of the electoral college vote.

Trump also doesn’t want the covers lifted off his possible connections between the insurrectionists and his GOP congressional foot soldiers or his White House operatives.

Trump has shown that he is so desperate to the point of asking the U.S. Supreme Court to halt the release of his White House records to the House Select Committee.  He has even gone so far as to cite an interview reported in The Post as actual evidence of a congressional witch hunt being launched against him.  Even though he personally is the one that still refers to The Post as, “Fake News”.

Trump might also want the Select Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and the ranking Republican Liz Cheney (Wyo.), gone as well.  But they, like the truth, they are not going away.  Nor should they.

As I said, Trump has tested our democracy in a way only America’s worst enemy could even try.

Let's face it.  The nation is as close to a new civil war, as it was at the start of our first civil war

For that reason, there must be a public accounting, in all its ugly details.

As stated, our modern-day Pearl Harbor event deserves the spotlight of the truth.

One year ago this week, in the waning days of his presidency, Trump irrevocably befouled his presidential term of service by not accepting the voters’ verdict.  Instead, he then, as now, falsely portrayed the election’s outcome as fraudulent.

The presidency should never again be dragged down to the depth of Trump’s despicable behavior.

The Thompson Committee has no choice but to forge ahead.  Anything less will allow Trump’s lie to continue its damaging spread at the expense of the awful truth about the attempted subversion of the U.S. Constitution on January 6th.

It is obvious that for this nation to continue as a democracy, that cannot be allowed.

Nor can Donald Trump’s damnable ”Big Lie” stand.  This must be dealt with, or this nation will pay the worst possible cost.

That being, the loss of our democratic freedom.  We are closer to this possible loss than most people realize.
