MORE TRUMP STATEMENTS PROVING HE SHOULD LOOSE IN NOVEMBER
…Mark Foley, the disgraced Florida
Congressman
A reader again shows more
intelligence than the GOP nominee
One of my
favorite activities when I am reviewing the different articles in the major
newspapers is to read the comment section from the readers after the
articles. Some are very intelligent
responses and some are pure garbage full of hate and expletives.
But I was
recently impressed by one comment from a reader that was definitely not a fan
of Donald Trump, and was apparently a Hillary supporter. The comment was:
“Let's tally up the voting supporter blocks
so far:
In Hillary’s corner: Democrats, women, minorities, moderate Republicans, LGBTQ, & sane human beings.
In Trump’s corner: child molesters, the KKK, George Zimmerman, Roger Ailes, Ted Nugent, Gary Busey”
These comments
were obviously shots at Trump after an article about his very stupid comment where at his
rally, Trump actually stated that Seddique Mateen, the father of the man
identified as the mass shooter at an Orlando nightclub in June was seen sitting
in the group behind Clinton at her campaign rally in Florida. Trump went on to say that Hillary’s campaign
was aware that Mateen would actually be there.
Needless to
say, the Clinton campaign said Mateen "wasn't
invited as a guest, and the campaign was unaware of his attendance until after
the event." Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said Clinton "disagrees with his [Mateen’s] views and
disavows his support," this is according to the Associated Press.
Afterward, Mr.
Mateen told a local TV station that coming there was his decision and that he was
supporting Clinton over Trump.
Of course
Trump’s statement at his rally was "Wasn't
it terrible when the father of the animal that killed the wonderful people in
Orlando was sitting with a big smile on his face right behind Hillary
Clinton?"
But, let’s
look again at the reader’s statement about Trump that started with the “child molester” statement from the
comments section.
Talk about the
“Pot calling the kettle black”.
Trump, who was
speaking at his own rally in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., drew his own scrutiny over a
recognizable figure in the crowd who was seated not far behind Trump. It was the former congressman, Mark Foley,
who had to resign in 2006 after he was found to have sent sexually
explicit messages to underage male congressional pages.
The difference here was that Mr. Mateen had later admitted that he was not invited to sit in the group behind Hillary, but that he supported her and disagreed with Donald Trump’s position. Also that he had gotten there early enough to get a good seat.
But for Mr.
Foley, he told an MSNBC reporter
that Trump was a longtime friend and one of his biggest former contributors. Federal Election Commission (FEC)
records show that Trump had made a number of donations to Foley over the years.
In addition,
at his rally, Trump said that people attending campaign rallies, sitting in
such close proximity to the candidate, often knew the candidate. To prove his
point, he turned to the area where Foley, the former GOP Florida congressman was seated.
"How many of you people know
me? A lot of you people know me,
right?" he asked. Some,
including Foley, raised their hands.
"When you get those seats you sort of know
the campaign," Trump continued, but he didn’t stop there.
Trump then
went on to level intense criticism against both Clinton and President Obama,
falsely charging that the latter "founded"
the Islamic State terrorist group because of Obama’s mismanagement of the
situation in the Middle East.
Clinton, he said, was of course the "co-founder."
The Republican
presidential nominee repeated that President Obama, whom he referred to at one
point by his full name, “Barack Hussein
Obama and Clinton had botched policy in the Middle East and fueled the growth
of terrorism there.”
Again he said,
"He is the founder of ISIS,"
using the acronym for the Islamic State. He again added: "And I would say the co-founder is crooked
Hillary Clinton."
Then Trump
immediately changed the subject as he criticized the campaign press for its
coverage of his comment that, "Second
Amendment people might be able to take action if Clinton appoints anti-gun
judges. Look at the way they covered that story," he said.
I say, “Yes, everyone please look at the proper way
the press covered an improper statement from someone that is not qualified to
be the Commander-in-Chief and President of the United States.”
It continues
to become more and more disgusting.
