2015 IS GOING TO BE AN INTERESTING YEAR FOR FOLLOWING THE FAR RIGHT

A few bizarre examples from the far-right, and it’s only been a week into 2015.

Don’t you just love the beginning of a new year when the conservative nut-bags all come out just to “open-mouth & insert-foot”.

Well, for 2015, they really aim to please:

First, let’s see what the Fox Network is offering for the new year.

On their Fox & Friends program, they offered some key advice to American women on how to please their men on New Year’s day.  No I’m not kidding.

According to the crack Fox men experts on this subject, “Men like having their egos stroked, their meals cooked and their feet massaged”.

Ladies, listen up,” Fox host Clayton Morris [the so-called Fox expert] said. “Ladies, we’re talking to you. If you still don’t have a New Year’s resolution, then could this be it?”

Morris also recommends reading a new dating guide titled Single Man, Married Man.  He says this book is the total truth as it was written by actual men.  So, per Mr. Morris, you women, read this and you can get some “honest advice on how to get a husband.” (I personally doubt that Mr. Morris even cracked the cover of this book.)

But the Fox co-host Peter Doocy just had to get in his two-cents by offering his helpful romantic advice. “No matter where a woman is in life, she should always be able to cater to her man’s needs.”

Now, Fox always offers some supporting inputs from a token women.  But this time it came as a smart-ass comment from their feminist, Ainsley Earhardt who stated, “Oh yeah, I do want to be a better wife.”

But to Doocy, this was not a joking matter. He is obviously all about helping all the ladies. Doocy responded with, “When he [your husband] gets his ego stroked, he’ll be more inclined to love you more.”

Ainsley shot back, “But that’s not the reason you should serve your man, just to get something in return.”

From there, the discussion continued downhill and they never really recovered.

I don’t think that most liberated and intelligent American women need any inputs from the likes of the male Clown Car on Fox & Friends.

Now we move on to the obvious right-wing individual that you would expect to hear from at the beginning of any new year.  Of course, that’s the former Minnesota US Representative, Ms. Michele Bachmann.

This is the woman that had multiple major faux pas during her presidential run who is now taking credit for the price of gasoline going down to below $2.00 a gallon.

The issue is that Ms. Bachmann had previously promised voters that if she were elected president, she would bring us $2-a-gallon gasoline.  (Now, don’t forget, this woman did NOT win the presidential election, but apparently nobody has told her!!!)

This week she Tweeted the following picture where she is taking credit (notice her “V” for victory hand-sign) where she says she has delivered on her $2.00 campaign pledge.

How this republican that dropped out of the presidential campaign made this miracle occur under a Democratic President, that isn't an issue for her.  First, you would need to have some real understanding as to how that lower price actually came into being.  But as usual, Ms. Bachmann never wants to have to deal with any of the factual details that actually brought down the per-gallon price.

Oh you know, "Why let pesky details get in the way of taking credit for the results?"

So, moving right along, now let’s look at why, according to the far-right, the economy is looking good in this first month of 2015.

Now first, let’s not give the president any credit for saving the auto industry or for using the stimulus to save thousands of small US businesses and for growing US jobs.

We must also now pity poor Fox News. Here the economy seems to finally be recovering, and the stock market has risen for the sixth straight year to record levels, and that rascal of a president of ours has the audacity to kinda crow about it.

As Obama was finally taking a bow on the economy, all that Fox's Neil Cavuto could do was continue to whine.  The last thing a conservative brain is able to accept is that a government stimulus could have helped anything. The thought of more government spending (except on the military, of course) or parish-the-thought, “to raise taxes on the uber-wealthy and corporations”, that would send shivers up and down any conservative’s trickle-down spine.

So, Mr. Cavuto invited the father-of-supply-side economics, the conservative Art Laffer, to help make conservative sense of it, and boy Mr. Laffer did not disappoint.  After Cavuto and Laffer hsd joked around, Laffer then advanced his ridiculous economic theory. The reason the economy is recovering is because "government stimulus money had finally run out".

Yep, those were his actual words:

Per Mr. Laffer: "The reason we're now coming out is because all of those stimulus dollars spent are now drying up and government spending as a share of GDP is falling very sharply, which is leading to a modest recovery right now, and I think it will continue and I'm very optimistic about the long term, but the reason why we're having any growth now is because of stimulus spending running off and not being there anymore."

Of course there was no explanation from Laffer as to how not having available stimulus money at the beginning of a Great Recession leads to a “modest recovery”.

This is way out in left field, even for a trickle-down believing economist like Laffer.

However, no matter how wrong this so-called economist is, he will always have a home at Fox.

Next, the Tea Partier from Iowa, Steve King, (Yes, the same US Rep that thinks that all illegal Mexican immigrants are drug-runners with ‘calves the size of cantaloupes’) Mr. King makes a bizarre comparison of a Louisiana politician to Jesus Christ.

What Jesus would do in any situation is a regular question of the Christian Right. But this anti-immigrant Iowa congressman came up with an off-the-wall answer to that question.

King's Jesus would apparently meet with and give speeches to white supremacist groups.

You may recall the issue around King’s Republican House colleague Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), after the reports emerged that Scalise had spoken at a conference with close links to the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke.

King stated that, “Jesus dined with tax collectors and sinners.  It’s not the healthy who need a doctor, it’s the sick. Given that piece of scripture, and understanding that Scalise probably wasn’t staffed thoroughly, I could understand how something like this happened. But I know his heart, I’ve painted houses with him post-Katrina, and I know he is a good man.

Only a card-carrying, far-right, conservative Tea Party Republican could come up with lop-sided religious logic such as that.

Finally, did you know that the root-cause of racism in America is black people?

Well, the leader of the right-wing organization, Gun Owners of America, Mr.Larry Pratt, offered this gem from his overall detailed personal analysis.

Oh, and it’s not just black people, it’s black leftists.

In an interview with Internet hate-talk show host, Stan Solomon, they were discussing the deaths of the unarmed black men, Michael Brown and Eric Garner, at the hands of white police.  Per Mr. Pratt, “Let’s face it, the racism that we are dealing with in our country comes primarily from a small group of black leftists. When you’ve said black radical leftist, you’ve pretty much said racist.”

It was later reported by the Right Wing Watch group that the radical Mr. Solomon responded to Mr. Pratt regarding the protestors for these deaths saying, “peaceful protesters should be shot”.

It’s going to be an interesting year of following the Republican conservatives in 2015 and 2016.
