TRUMP’S BAD WEEK: HOW BAD WAS IT?

….Just can’t see this man as the US Commander in Chief

Hillary’s poll numbers show the results of Trump’s bad week.

Yes, we all now know that last week, Donald Trump had very bad week, but do you realize just how bad it was?

After a whole work-week of dealing with  the fact that he had lost the debate to Hillary (67%-33%), Trump just had to make things worse by days later Tweeting at 5:00 AM that people should check out a sex tape with the 1996 Miss Universe, Alicia Machado.  A tape that as of today, no one can find.

But that was only the beginning of the bad.

Then there came the NEWSWEEK magazine cover that had the article where years ago, Trump had broken the Cuban embargo by sending his people to Cuba, where they spent $68,000 to see about doing business in Cuba.  Spending any money in Cuba was breaking the Cuban Embargo and that was totally against federal law.

Then we have the New York Attorney General announcing that Trump’s Charity was not a licensed New York Charity.  For all these years, Trump’s Charity had not filed the proper paper work for allowing them to pursue charitable donations above $25,000.  The Attorney General has ordered the Trump Charity to “cease and desist”.  They could ask the Trump Charity to return all the money that was donated for about 20 years.

The Associated Press (AP) later released a statement that 20 former cast and crew members of  Trump’s “The Apprentice” program had stated that during the show’s run, Trump was a very crude and sexist individual.

On that same day, the New York Times released 3 pages of what turned out to be from a 1995 Trump tax return.  In those three pages, it showed that Trump not only paid zero taxes that year, he had declared a business loss of almost 1 Billion dollars.  As this is a real estate loss, Trump would be allowed to carry the loss over up to 18 years of tax losses.  What that means is this could be one of the reasons that Trump won’t release his tax returns, including the older ones.  The reason is that the carry-over could be used for Trump to show he has not paid any federal taxes for those 18 years.

Finally, the Trump campaign set him up for a discussion session with a large group of retired US military officers, mostly generals.  During that discussion event, Trump tried to talk about the support that he would give the military via the Veterans Administration.

Now, one of the things that the military leaders and President Obama have attempted to do, is to remove the stigma that if a member of the military is suffering with mental issues due to their time in combat, they are not being weak if they ask for help.  Just a week before, President Obama gave a talk saying he had ordered to military leadership to make sure that the message went out that needing help for PTSD issues is not a sign of weakness.  The president even said , “If you break a leg, you go see a doctor, if you have issues due to PTSD, you need to get some help.  You are not being weak, you are being strong.”

But getting back to this week, in another location, Vice President Biden was giving a speech describing where, in one of his 29 trips to the middles east, many times his role was to present medals to those that performed gallantly in the field.  He related that during one of those visits, he was asked to give a silver star to a soldier that had risked his life in pulling another soldier out of a Humvee that had been hit by an IED.  But as the vice president was awarding the medal, the soldier backed away saying “I don’t want it!, I don’t want the medal.  He died! I don’t want it…..he died!”

The vice president related this story because he said that “This soldier would never forget what he had seen and done and if needed, this soldier deserved to receive the VA’s help in dealing with this issue, even if it was for the rest of his life.”

Unfortunately, going back to Trump’s discussions with those former generals, he once again put his foot in his mouth.  In trying to say that he would help those with mental issues in the military, he actually said, “The weak ones will need help, the strong ones don’t need any help.”  Yes, he was back at reciting the stigma that the US military leadership has been working hard to change.  Just because your military experience has taken its mental toll, that doesn’t mean you are a weak soldier.  In fact, you are strong if you actually seek help for any mental issues, due to your active military duty.

At the end of Vice President Biden’s speech, he reference Donald Trump and his inappropriate comments to those former military leaders.  Biden’s comments were that, “It’s not that Donald Trump doesn’t get it, he’s just so completely uninformed and he’s shown that he’s not interested in finding anything out about the real issues.”

Yep, it was a bad week for Trump and the VP debate probably didn't change the results.  Hillary’s poll numbers have shown positive results accordingly, due to that bad Trump week.
