TRUMP GOES BEZERK
…Doesn’t look like a peaceful
group to me.
If he wasn’t supporting the far
right’s ideals, why would the KKK’s David Duke send the president a thank you
Tweet for his comments?
Boy, where do
you go with what we all heard from our president in what was supposed to be his
“Day for supporting US Infrastructure”.
One thing is
for sure. We had thought that perhaps
Donald Trump seemed uncomfortable when he made his speech about the riots in
Charlottesville via a tteleprompter on Monday.
More than one individual has said that they didn’t think that President
Trump actually believed what he was saying against white supremacist,
neo-nazi’s, and the Alt-Rights that had caused the deaths in Charlottesville,
VA.
He made the
statement that those on the far right had a permit to demonstrate, and those
that were in the opposition did not have a permit. But, those on the right with the permit
has shown up armed with AR 15’s and AK 47’s, they held lit Tiki torches and were
waving Nazi and Confederate flags while carrying some very offensive signs. All of this while they yelled things that had
been previously only been used by the real Nazi’s in WWII and by the KKK.
No one,
including the president, should stand up for those that participated in the
violence that ensued in Charlottesville.
But those on the far right had not come with the idea of it being a “peaceful demonstration”.
What we
learned is that Trump really did believe what he had first said, that it was “problems on both sides”,
not just an issue against the white supremacist and nationalist
demonstrators. Some reporter then made the
comment to the president that it wasn’t someone from the far left that murdered a young woman with a car, but that comment went without any reaction from
President Trump.
As to the taking down of Confederate hero’s
statues, Trump was asking, “George
Washington and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves.
Should we take down statues of those two?” He totally ignored the idea that yes these
Americans had also owned slaves, but they later came up with the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution and the idea that all
men were created equal. It was the
Robert E. Lee’s and the other Confederates that believed in continuing slavery
and that it should always be that way in America. And as with Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson and
Washington would not have supported seceding from the Union while and starting
a war on the basis of maintaining the status quo of slavery.
In this
narcissistic megalomaniacs head, he showed throughout his two years of
presidential campaigning how he
supported the Alt-Right and how he would wink at them from time to time
in showing his support. For anyone today
to be shocked by Trump’s statements saying that “there was terrible issues on both side in Charlottesville”, where
were these shocked individuals for all of Trump's time as the “Chief Birther”
and what about all his bigotry during the election campaign?
Why would
anyone be surprised that David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux
Klan, had sent the president a Tweet saying “Thank you” for say that those on the left fighting in
Charlottesville were the terrorists?…..That is totally amazing!
Even when it
was made clear in Charlottesville that it was the Alt-Right, neo-Nazi’s, the white
nationalists and white supremacists that showed up shouting WWII German
slogans, anti-Jewish slogans from Hitler’s time. All this while giving Hitler salutes as they
were carrying weapons and lit torches.
Even the Chicago Tribune‘s
next day headline was: “TRUMP SINKS TO NEW DEPTHS OF DEGRADATION”. The Los
Angeles Times headline to the president was “RACISM IS EVIL, SO STOP BEING RACIST”. Major newspapers across the nation had
similar or worse headlines against the president and what he had said yesterday.
There were
interviews also shown that had been taken the day before with white nationalists and
they admitted that they were coming to cause trouble and that they came to
fight. That was outwardly stated in the
interview. A young black man was later
found beaten by a group of white nationalists in a local parking lot. Sorry Mr. President, this wasn’t an issue on
both sides of the equation. Only one
group came wanting to fight.
Does anyone
think that this was not eventually going to happen when there are three Alt-Right advisors associated with the president? Some are in the White House
that are admitted white nationalists such as Stephen Bannon and Stephen Miller?
There is
supposed to be another Alt-Right demonstration this week in Boston. But the local police are putting limitations
on the crowds that might cause them to even withdraw their permit
application. But then, they might just
ignore the “no weapons, no pepper spray, no baseball bats,
no signs and no torches” requirements and instead come armed to the teeth.
The staunch
Republican’s Steve Schmidt and the former Chairman of the RNC, Michael Steel,
they both have been on TV giving statements against what the president had said
in this off-the-cuff press conference.
Arizona
Republican Senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake have both said there is no
equivalency between the racist nationalists and those American that were
standing up against the bigots and racists.
Similar statements came from other Republican lawmakers such as
Senator’s Marko Rubio and Lindsay Graham and even the Speaker of the House,
Paul Ryan.
The reality is
that President Trump was just very angry that his team in the White House had “forced” him to make the statements on Monday via teleprompter
against the white nationalists and the neo-Nazi and white supremacists, without
saying that there was fault as well on the other side.
Many cities in
the south such as Memphis, Little Rock and Huntsville are having problems with
people that want to remove statues and monuments of Confederate hero’s,. Many in those towns say that they want to retain their long-time southern
heritage. But the heritage of supporting
Slavery?
I was born in
the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia,
but I have no desire of having any monuments to those that fought to preserve
the state of slavery in America. I can
read all I need for knowing about what happen in the war in this country that
took the lives of 620,000 Americans. But
I don’t need an expensive statue or a community park named as a tribute to the
men that headed up those that seceded in order to maintain the horrible
tradition of enslaving men because of the color of their skin.
This issue
with the president isn’t going away anytime soon. Is the president a racist or a bigot? I don’t know for sure, but it’s hard to refer
to him as a president of "ALL Americans."
I wonder about
this man that was the “Birther-in-Chief”,
the man that thinks that those Americans that stand up against racists are
as bad as the racists themselves, and the man that the former head of the KKK
was thanking for what he said on national TV that really upset about two thirds
of America.
That man is
not my president, regardless of what he does or says.
