FAR RIGHT “WING-NUTS” PROVE, THAT’S JUST WHAT THEY ARE
….A very confused activist Judge
Read below why these individuals are called “wing-nuts”.
With the New Year coming soon, as usual, we and the news media all look back at 2014 to see the high lights and the low lights of the year. The internet news service, Alternet Headlines did their look at some of the classic actions of some of the far-right’s conservative “wing-nuts”. The following items are totally for real and they really do kind of epitomize why these individual are called “wing-nuts”.
Item
1:
The conservative,
activist, Supreme Court Justice, Antonin
Scalia was asked by the BBC broadcast unit about the CIA’s fully exposed
use of torture in the years after the al Qaeda 9/11 attacks. It appears
that this high court justice
has a strange way of looking at torture and the law.
Per justice Scalia, “We have laws against torture, but the Constitution says nothing
whatever about torture. It speaks of punishment; ‘cruel and unusual’
punishments’ are forbidden.”
“So torture is forbidden, in that case?” The BBC asked.
Scalia: “If it’s imposed as a punishment, yes. If you condemn someone who has committed a
crime to be tortured, that would be unconstitutional.”
But when Scalia is asked
about torture as a tool for interrogation, Scalia’s tune changes: “We have never held that that’s contrary to
the Constitution. And I don’t know what provision of the Constitution that
would contravene. Listen, I think it is very facile for people
to say, ‘Oh, torture is terrible.’ You have the situation where a person that
you know for sure knows the location of a nuclear bomb that has been planted in
Los Angeles and will kill millions of people. You think it’s an easy question?
You think it’s clear that you cannot use extreme measures to get that
information out of that person? I don’t think that’s so clear at all.”
Scalia added: “And once again, it’s this sort of
self-righteousness of European liberals who answer that question so readily and
so easily. It’s not that easy a question.”
So, according to this
justice, for European, and probably American liberals too, they always say to
never torture anyone. But Scalia thinks
it’s OK to torture some people......but just don’t do it to convicts.
Item 2:
The anorexic conservative,
Ms. Ann Coulter says she personally has never met anyone who has been
raped. Based on my long-time knowledge
of this wise-acre conservative writer, I agree that Ann would obviously NOT be the warm and fuzzy female that a
women friend would turn to, after such a traumatizing event.
Recently, this
conservative author / radio personality appeared on the conservative radio talker Lars Larson Show and she asserted that the national college campus rape
thing is totally an invented problem.
Her way of proving that is of course that the Rolling Stone magazine
story just proves it. Just ask Ms.
Coulter because she has special “connections”.
Per Coulter: “People know what rape is, and to have girls
trying to get attention, from Lena Dunham to this poor psychotic at UVA, Lady
Gaga claiming she was raped but she didn’t admit it to herself for five years.
Just what major crimes do people say, ‘I didn’t admit it to myself?' “
Sounding totally shocked,
Ms. Coulter continued: “There are a few,
very few, percentage of actual rapists, and as I said on Hannity, but his
idiot producer cut it out. What I said
to Hannity was that the rapists are
usually either named Clinton or Kennedy.”
And Ms. Coulter would know
all about this just how??????
…I couldn’t have said it
better.
Item 3:
Last week, the Fox Gang-of-Five were doing their chatty TV news
segment when they acknowledged that Stephen Colbert’s final show was very impressive. They were
marveling at Henry Kissinger’s presence on the show and just how tall Kareem
Abdul Jabar’s actually was in real life.
Then the former Bush administration press
officer, Dana Perino ruined the program when she said, “I thought it would have been great to have Bill O’Reilly on the last
show”
But the reality is that Mr. O’Reilly was a
regular target of Colbert and he probably wouldn’t have appreciated being on
that final show.
One of the gang, Mr. Greg Gutfeld, then
stated that, “He [Colbert] should really
write an eight-figure check to Fox News because all of our gaffes that made
that man’s career.”
Yes, Mr. Gutfeld actually said that.
But instead of calling them “gaffes”, what he really means is their relentless,
years-long campaigns of Fox’s hate-spewing, truth-distorting bile. And let’s not forget their racism, spiteful
misinformation, victim-blaming, and anti-intellectualism that has done real and
lasting damage to actual people and set this country back a few decades and deepened
its political divisions
Nuff said on that one.
Item 4:
You are
possibly aware that there is a movement with the Democratic liberals to recruit
Senator Elizabeth Warren of
Massachusetts senator to run for president.
Well, the Fox
News Business host, Melissa Francis, has now
promised that Wall Street will
devote all of its resources to defeat its arch nemesis, Senator Elizabeth Warren, should the reform-minded senator decide
to run for president.
They will do
this, Francis says, because bankers and traders believe Warren is “actually the devil.” And Ms. Francis agrees with those bankers and
traders. “I mean, without question,
Elizabeth Warren is the devil,” she said.
This statement
was made at the discussion of 2016 presidential politics in the latest edition
of Out Numbered. It was also noted that Hillary Clinton’s
delay in announcing her candidacy is fueling Warren supporters. The co-host, Kennedy Montgomery said, “I think Elizabeth Warren is going to
capitalize on not only her economic populism, but also the social justice
aspect.” She also said that all of
the GOP senators who were potential
presidential candidates had voted against a recent budget bill that would have
weakened the Warren sponsored consumer financial protections.
“And she [Senator Warren] really came out
smelling like a rose,” Francis said.
You know it’s
very bad when the real “she-devil” wears
her rose perfume.
Item 5:
The Republican
War on Women is alive and well.
Missouri state
representative Rick Brattin, has recently proposed a bill that says, “No abortion shall be performed or induced
unless and until the father of the unborn child provides written, notarized
consent to the abortion.”
There are
exceptions for cases or rape and incest, but even those exceptions are limited,
you know, to “legitimate rape”, (Here we go again….) "Just like any rape, you have to report
it, and you have to prove it," Brattin tells Mother Jones magazine. “So you couldn’t just go and say, ‘Oh yeah,
I was raped’ and get an abortion. It has to be a legitimate rape.”
But Brattin’s
use of the term “legitimate rape”
should NOT be confused with former Missouri Rep. Todd Akin's use of that term.
"I’m just saying if there was a legitimate
rape, you’re going to make a police report, just as if you were robbed,"
Brattin says. "That’s just common
sense." He hastened to add that, “Legitimate
rape is the kind of rape you can
easily prove because the victim is either dead or badly beaten.”
Mr. Brattin
was then asked, “What’s next, legitimate
incest?”
Finally, Item 6:
The previous
laughing stock Christian lunatic, Gordon Klingenschmitt, went and got himself
elected to the Colorado State legislature.
He has now
turned his ample lack of intellect to the problem of healthcare and he came up with the
perfect answer: “Jesus.”
This all
occurred when on Fox News he stated that 58% of those polled wanted to repeal
Obamacare, (This was from a skewed poll
done by the conservative group: Right Wing Watch.)
“We ought to look to the Lord for our
healthcare,” Klingenschmitt said during his Fox News interview. “It’s
right there in Exodus in the Old Testament”, Klingenschmitt pointed out.
He
said, ‘If you listen carefully to the
Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his
commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases
I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.’”
“Isn’t that inspiring? I personally prefer to
look to almighty God as my healer and not to the government as a substitute god
or substitute healer,” Klingenschmitt said.
And right
there and then, he prayed.
Honest!
I have no idea
how wing-nuts like these continue to get elected.
