REP. MO BROOKS SHOWS US ALL THAT HE IS A VERY DIM BULB
…Rep. of Alabama, Mo Brooks
Mo
Brooks actually tweeted a picture that included his own Gmail password
In my past, while working and traveling around the globe, I had to travel to Alabama. I have always thought of the deep south almost as another country. The business people I had to deal with were always very different to those I dealt with in other parts of America. As an example, when doing business in Florida, I was having lunch with a local business client that had received a cell phone call. When he hung up, he said the call was from his wife and he had to go home right away. The reason was that his wife said there was a very large alligator in their front yard. His wife said she had to run outside and bring in their 5 year old son.
Where else but the deep south in America would that have been a problem.
I had a very large client in Huntsville, Alabama. Whenever I visited that client, I seemed to always come home feeling that the people I visited were not from America.
I am now re-visiting that feeling when I deal with them in my writing.
I am referring to specifically, what is going on with the Rep. from Alabama, Mo Brooks.
You may recall that on January 6th, at the rally before the insurrection of the Capitol, Mo Brooks yelled the following at the mob that had gathered for stopping the counting of the states votes that would make Joe Biden the new U.S. President: “Now, our ancestors sacrificed their blood, their sweat, their tears, their fortunes, and sometimes their lives…. So I have a question for you: Are you willing to do the same? My answer is yes.....Louder! Are you willing to do what it takes to fight for America?... Louder!”
But when it came time to be held to account for inciting the deadly insurrection, Brooks chose flight, not fight.
Rep. Brooks instead turned into an armchair insurrectionist.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) then sued Brooks, along with former president Donald Trump and others, for the damage caused by the insurrection. But Brooks, unlike the other defendants, he refused to accept the servicing of the court papers. This of course, prompted Swalwell to hire a private investigator to hunt him down and serve the papers. There then was a weeks-long, cat-and-mouse game and Brooks proved so elusive that the judge granted his court servers a 60-day extension.
Brooks kept avoiding the servers, but the process servers finally caught Brooks by getting his wife, Martha, to accept the papers using his open garage door.
The upset lawmaker then fired off a tweet accusing Swalwell’s Private Investigator of “sneaking INTO MY HOUSE & accosting my wife!“ and, he attached a photo of Alabama’s trespassing statute, declaring that he would seek an “arrest warrant” for the “criminal trespass.”
Then, Brooks got very stupid when he tweeted a photo of his computer screen. Why was it stupid? Because he did it in such a haste that he evidently didn’t notice that the picture included what appeared to be his bank account PIN and his own Gmail password, which was taped to the front of his monitor. Apparently, by taking a screenshot of his computer exceeded Brooks’ technical capabilities.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) helpfully tweeted the appropriate advice to his House colleague: “Never tape a Pass Word to a computer.”
So, could it be any more embarrassing for a Congressman like Brooks? Well, it’s hard to believe that he is also a member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Cyber, Innovative Technologies and Information Systems.
It’s absurd that Brooks was so outraged. Especially for someone that had provoked hundreds of Trump supporters to invade the Capitol. An invasion that injured hundreds of police and that lead to several deaths. But now he’s ALL-CAPS enraged because a nonviolent process server walked into his open garage.
Brooks is hoping the Alabama voters will reward his stupidity by voting for him to become their Senator next year. It is important to know that there is a precedent for the state electing not so bright politicians. In fact, last year, Alabamians chose as their other senator, a former Auburn football coach named Tommy Tuberville. Tuberville is a Republican who shortly after his election, he listed for an interviewer “all three branches of government…. You know, the House, the Senate and the executive.”
Brooks recently said that he wanted to remove all immigrants who are in the United States illegally, “I will do anything short of shooting them.” He also declared that the Democrats, under President Barack Obama, had “launched a war on Whites.”
The real screw-up that Brooks has said, had to do with his view on “Climate Change”. He actually said that the top cause of the rising sea levels wasn’t due to climate change, he said it was due to: rocks and sediment falling into the ocean.”
But he
doesn’t stop with that, he is still championing Trump’s “big lie”
about the 2020 election. Brooks is
pretty much doing the same thing as his Republican colleagues in Congress. He’s
just doing it more clumsily.
As early as last November, Brooks claimed members of Congress “control who the president of the United States is.” He later declared that “Joe Biden did not win” Georgia and that “Congress should reject any Georgia submission of 16 electoral college votes for Joe Biden.” He billed his appearance at the pre-insurrection Trump rally on Jan. 6 by saying he would “tell the American people about the election system weaknesses that the Socialist Democrats exploited to steal this election.”
After Trump’s marauders attacked the Capitol, Brooks proclaimed, “All may not be, and likely is not what it appears. Evidence is growing that fascist ANTIFA orchestrated the Capitol attack with clever mob control tactics.”
But when Swalwell sued Brooks, the previously combative Alabamian shied away from the fight. He hadn’t been served at the Capitol complex because the insurrection aftermath left the complex off-limits to all but lawmakers and staff, forcing his pursuers to hunt for him in Huntsville, his hometown. Martha Brooks had previously performed an evasive maneuver in her car to give a process server the slip.
As Mo Brooks was sharing his password and PIN with the world, Martha Brooks even told a conservative talk radio station that she was startled by the process server and “screamed” at the man, who left the legal papers and “skedaddled.”
If only the domestic terrorists her husband incited had been so courteous.
