THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION HAD A HAND IN COVID-19 DEATHS: PART V

The many moves within the Trump administration have caused severe pain to America

In his 2^nd term, President Obama had allowed a handful of medical evacuees

to be brought to the United States for treatment of Ebola. 

This was obviously very controversial, but they were escorted by professional medical personnel that knew how to transport an obviously difficult group of individuals.

Donald Trump, whose hatred of Obama was never a secret, he played a major role

in hyping the possibility of a mass Ebola outbreak in the US.

Trump tweeted: “Ebola patients will be brought to the U.S. in a few days…

now I know for sure that our leaders are incompetent.  Keep them out of here!”

“I am starting to think that there is something seriously wrong with

President Obama’s mental health. Why won’t he stop the flights.  Psycho!”

Trump later tweeted.

Two of the Ebola patients who were brought to the US died.  Nine were saved, but globally the outbreak killed 11,300, mostly in Africa.

The bringing of those to America was widely viewed as a public-health triumph. “America has been the nation that offers the world this type of leadership, especially when that urgency is necessary.  We are the trusted leader at bringing together to solve big global challenges”.

This was a statement from Rajiv Shah.

Rajiv Shah is the current President of the Rockefeller Foundation.  Mr. Shah was the founder of the National Institute of Food & Agriculture, and from 2010 to 2015, he was the Chief Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Mr. Shah was recently one of three experts that presented a plan for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.  This is where these three agreed with the other medical experts that said nothing will stop the pandemic until the US has a testing system that can cover all of the United States.

Just as it was done successfully in a smaller country, South Korea, the US will have to be able to test virtually everyone for the virus, that is, until there is a vaccine.

In the aftermath of the Ebola crisis, it was the former National Security Director,

Susan Rice, that organized the Global Health Security Agenda, which was

an attempt to build cooperation and share knowledge about pandemics between nations.

The goal was very explicit:  “To prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats.” 

The team also set up the National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense, which was essentially a new department within the NSC, headed by Beth Cameron, an administrator with decades of experience.

After the 2016 election, without going into all the details, much effort was made to bring the Trump up to speed on possible future pandemics, and the Obama administration offered the 69 page book entitled; Playbook for Early Response to Emerging Infectious  Disease Threats, which was left for the Trump team.  

There is much proof that no one in the Trump team even read the book and Ms. Rice says: “There were very few issues besides China and Turkey that they [the Trump team]  were energized about”.

The end result is that with all the many moves that occurred within the first 3 years of the Trump administration, the whole team that the Obama administration had developed to deal with a possible pandemic, just disappeared within the National Security Council.

National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn had to leave when he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.  The security Adviser, Tom Bossert, whose portfolio included global pandemics, was pushed out as the Homeland Security Advisor.  In addition, Rear Admiral Timothy Ziemer, an infectious disease experts who had taken Beth Cameron’s job as head of the pandemic office, he was also pushed out.

There was no one left to do what the Obama administration had done for dealing with possible future pandemics.

This is just one area where I have come to the point that President Trump has had a hand in causing the deaths of many American citizens.
