These “wet markets” are where viruses can jump
from animals to humans.
Many
writers have asked the question as to where the coronavirus came from.
Some
have even said it did not come from China, but the proof of it originating in
Wuhan,
China,
seems to be pretty solid.
Here is
what has been confirmed to date. The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in
Wuhan is where it all stated.
You must
understand that Wuhan is a city of 11 million people in Central China.
The
Seafood Market is a dense stew of humans and animals. In dark corners you can often find live wolf
pups, scorpions. bamboo rats, squirrels, foxes,
turtles, and crocodile tails and various animal intestines.
These markets in China are called “wet
markets”. Due to all the water, blood and guts that are there and
guaranteed to cause trouble. This where there is a risk of a virus jumping
from an animal to a human.
Christian Walzer, Executive Health Director of
the Wildlife Conservation Society says: “Each animal is a package of pathogens.”
In China, the taste of wild animal meat is a
status thing. It is a culinary
adventure.
Just as the French eat snails, and Americans
eat buffalo, the Chinese eat different wild animals for their exotic tastes.
David Quammen, an author of books about getting
infections from animals. He says, “We disrupt ecosystems, and we shake
viruses loose from their natural hosts. When that happens, they need new hosts. Often, we are it!”
In last December, a 2nd person
turned up in a Wuhan hospital with an unusual lung infection. The phrase “SARS coronavirus” was
noticed on the test sheet. SARS stands
for “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome”.
These viruses are highly contagious. The “caronavirus” is named so because
the virus has a halo of protein that looks like a crown.
In December, a Chinese ophthalmologist posted
in a WeChat group that a coronavirus had been discovered in Wuhan, and within hours the news had spread
widely among the doctors and public health officials in Wuhan city.
Trump and other Chinese bashers in Congress
would later argue that the pandemic was the
fault of the Chinese and Trump would start
calling it the “Chinese Virus”.
AT that time, radio host Rush Limbaugh and Republican
Senator, Tom Cotton would suggest that the virus could have been engineered as a bio-weapon that
escaped from a Chinese research lab in Wuhan.
The Chinese researcher that had discovered the
virus had become infected with the virus and he died on February 7th.
The authorities had notified the World
Health Organization (WHO) on December 31st about a possible
viral outbreak.
On January 1st they closed down the
Huanan Seafood Market and 6 days later
they identified the pathogen as a “novel
coronavirus”, this declared that no one was immune to the virus.
President Trump had been informed of this in
his daily intelligence reports starting back in mid-December, 2019, and in the
weeks there after.
