OBAMACARE MAKES A FOOL OUT OF FOX & THE GOP
…President Obama Signing the
Affordable Care Act (ACA)
When you are the GOP and wrong, and have no
proof, you just accuse the Democrats of “cooking the books”.
I have to say
that I agree with President Obama’s comments regarding the Republicans and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
As the
president was announcing that the enrollment of Obamacare had actually exceeded the CBO’s projected number of 7 million Americans signing up for
affordable health care, (it may actually
hit 8 million when it’s all done), the president declared something of
which I whole heartedly agree. As the
president asked the crowd in the White
House Rose Garden, “Why are the
Republicans so mad about the idea of people having affordable health care,
while not offering a plan of their own?”
The president then gave some examples of actual Americans that had
pre-existing conditions that had sent him letters saying how please and
relieved they were to now have coverage.
The president then asked, “Why
should Sean [one of the letter writers] have to give up his new coverage, as
the Republicans ask, and go back to being turned down by all of the insurers?”
The president
then gave an example of a woman with diabetes that had previously been turned
down over 30 times prior to finally receiving Obamacare.
It seems
appropriate for breaking the goal of 7 million Americans signing up for Obamacare, that it should occur on April Fool’s Day. The Republicans, and especially all the
talking heads on Fox, were all
trying to make a fool out of the president by expecting Obamacare to not hit the 7 million mark. Well, now, they are the fools since the
actual number is 7.1 million, and even more are in process that were still in
line, either on the web site or sitting on phones or in the offices at 12:00
midnight on the 31st.
But as
expected, the GOP’s fallback position
is to now accuse Obama of "cooking
the books." However, the White
House spokesman, Jay Carney,
brought up the uncomfortable truth: "If
we were cooking the books, don't you think we would have cooked them in October
and November?"
What was
interesting and kind of fun was that , Vice
President Joe Biden, in the final days of the enrollment, the VP appeared
on "The Rachael Ray Show." Why they decided on Rachael Ray was
actually very risky regarding Fox News. That risk being that it only supports the GOP’s accusations that the VP could be
accused of showing just how the Democrats were, “cooking the books!"
But what was
even more bizarre was when Fox News
attempted to show the Obamacare
enrollment numbers using their handy-dandy bar graph. As usual, the chart once again exposed the
on-going truth about Fox News. The
chart’s bar graph, comparing the 6 million
ACA enrollees of last week with the target figure of 7 million, but the 7
million bar was 4 times larger than the 6 million bar. Even the "un-truth-teller",
Sean Hannity, had to say that the
math of the chart was totally wrong.
As I said, Fox just can’t stop themselves from
offering their loyal viewers a pile of garbage.
I guess they are taking the GOP’s
long established idea that if you repeat a lie often enough, at some point,
all their listeners and viewers will believe it. And the
Republicans and Fox have proven over
and over again that they are the experts in lying to the American public. As was stated by the progressive talk show
host, Randi Rhodes, regarding the GOP, that if they had offered their
version of the enrollment numbers, Ms. Rhodes stated, “If this was a Republican operation, you can be sure that all the
numbers would have been thoroughly pre-cooked and vacuum sealed.”
Here’s an
example for demonstrating that this is just a way of life for those that have
anything to do with the GOP, or with
Fox News.
A previous star of Fox, who was even too much for Fox
and was let go from his daily Fox
political show, Mr. Glenn Beck, he
has now been sued for defamation of character.
Now, you may recall that the final brick on
the pile that caused Beck to be let go from Fox back in 2009, was when he declared that, “President Obama was a racist.” Beck had stated that Obama has, “over and over again exposed himself as a
guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.” Needless to say, a group as low as those
on Fox, even they could not deal
with Beck’s statement, especially when there was nothing offered for backing up
the accusation.
Well, Beck is back again making accusations
that he can’t back up. But this time
it’s not against a public figure. Beck is now being sued for defamation
because Beck accused one of the innocent victims of the Boston Marathon
bombing of being the man behind it. And
now the man is suing Beck.
Glenn, you
can go after all the public figures all you want with your lunacy. But you
can't pick totally innocent private citizens and then proceed to ruin their
lives.
As Ms. Rhodes
has also said about Mr. Beck, “The good news
for Glenn Beck being in any legal entanglement is that he can always claim
insanity. No jury in the world would doubt him.”
Nuff said.
