GOP ARIZONA REP, PAUL GOSAR, SHOWS HIS TRUE DISGUSTING COLORS

…This picture of Arizona Rep, Paul Gosar, does not show his bizarre, sick side

Gosar goes too far in his attacks on his Democratic House colleagues

It’s pretty disgusting that the Minority Leader of the House, Kevin McCarthy, refuses to comment about the horrible and bizarre video from the Arizona Rep, Paul Gosar, and his depiction of killing the Democratic N.Y. Rep, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC).

Yes, Gosar was shown as a fantasy cartoon super hero type, but his character is shown killing another character with AOC’s face.

The video was so stark, that a group of House Democrats has introduced a resolution to censure the GOP Rep. Gosar, for posting the cartoon video that depicted him killing AOC.  The Gosar character is also shown in the video as swinging his swords at a President Joe Biden character.

The censure motion was introduced by Rep. Jackie Speier, D-CA, who is a co-chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, along with nine other lawmakers. The group said such violent images increases threats against all elected officials in the wake of the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

“For that Member to post such a video on his official Instagram account and use his official congressional resources in the House of Representatives to further violence against elected officials goes beyond the pale,” the group of House Democrats said in a statement announcing their plans to introduce the motion. “As the events of January 6th have shown, such vicious and vulgar messaging can and does foment actual violence,” they continued.

Censure is the 2nd harshest form of punishment in the House, short of expulsion from the House, and it requires a simple majority in a floor vote to pass. Only twenty-three lawmakers have been censured by the House since 1832.

The majority vote would require Gosar, an Arizona Republican, to stand in the center of the House chamber as the resolution condemning his conduct is read aloud.

The edited cartoon video was shared on Gosar’s official social media channels Sunday evening. It featured a scene from the Japanese animated series “Attack on Titan,” with Gosar’s face edited onto a character bearing two swords and subsequently attacking giant characters superimposed with Ocasio-Cortez and President Biden’s faces. The video also included images of Border Patrol officers with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The video, which was posted on Gosar’s official Instagram and Twitter accounts, was so gross, it has since been deleted.

Gosar has faced sharp criticism for the posts. He released a statement that confirmed his office had produced the video and accused detractors of “gross mischaracterization.” Actually, the detractors were absolutely correct in their characterization of the video.  It was totally gross, regardless of how anyone feels about Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.

“I do not espouse violence or harm towards any Member of Congress or Mr. Biden,” Gosar said in the statement that is totally the opposite of what was obvious from the video.  He also added that the video “symbolizes the battle for the soul of America” when Congress takes up the president’s economic package, which he said includes immigration provisions he opposes.

That’s a pretty bizarre attitude based on how obvious the violence was in the video and in depicting the killing of AOC , and the attack on the president.

This video is truly a symbolic portrayal of a fight over immigration policy,” Gosar said in his statement, which is difficult to even see what he’s talking about…?  “It is a symbolic cartoon. It is not real life. Congressman Gosar cannot fly. The hero of the cartoon goes after the monster, the policy monster of open borders,” he continued.

That comment shows just how far from reality that Mr. Gosar really is.

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy has so far been totally silent on the matter, despite the Democratic calls for action.

The group of House Democrats who introduced the resolution condemned McCarthy’s silence, basically calling it: “tacit approval and just as dangerous” as the video.  The Democrats said in their statement.

Speaker Pelosi has urged McCarthy to condemn the video and asked the “Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate,” which is totally appropriate.

Threats of violence against Members of Congress and the President of the United States must not be tolerated,” Pelosi said in a Twitter post.

Ocasio-Cortez properly responded to Gosar’s video saying that a “creepy member” of the House had “shared a fantasy video of him killing me” and tagging McCarthy in a Twitter post.

“And he’ll face no consequences from the GOP Leader, who cheers him on with excuses,” she also said this in a Twitter post.

As expected, McCarthy’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

The GOP just continues to show how far out of reality their so called “political party” is today.
