PRESIDENT TRUMP’S THEORY ABOUT BUFFALO PROTESTOR IS INSANE
…This is Trump’s Press Secretary, Ms. Kayleigh
McEnany
Trump’s Press Secretary obviously signed up to
advance and sharpen the president’s smears.
Let’s face it, by himself, our President
couldn’t have come up with the conspiracy theory underlying the recent Buffalo
police attack on Martin Gugino, the 75-year-old Buffalo-area protester. Did you see the video of Mr. Gugino who was
shoved to the ground last week by two Buffalo police officers? The incident
took place outside the Buffalo City Hall, and the video captured the encounter. Gugino wound up laid out on the sidewalk, and
a pool of blood was forming around his head.
Assault charges were filed against the two Buffalo
police officers, who were suspended over the incident. Then, nearly 60 officers
in the so called, "elite Emergency Response Team" quit the unit over the
treatment of these two officers. It must
be noted that they did not quit the police department. They only removed themselves from this
particular "elite" response team.
This all sounds pretty straightforward, doesn’t
it? But not for Trump, who gathered some
bizarre information about this case from the One America News Network. That cable network, appears to have grabbed
their ideas from the far right questionable blog the, Conservative Treehouse.
Here’s Trump’s tweet that he developed from the
conservative blog’s interpretation:
Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an
ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing
to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. I watched, he fell harder than [he] was
pushed. Was aiming [his] scanner. Could be a set up?
Okay, this baseless allegation is bad enough,
as he also demoralized some of his own aides and allies, who were frustrated if
not particularly surprised by Trump’s latest incendiary and unfounded
suggestions.
Kelly Zarcone, a New York lawyer who’s
representing Gugino, issued this statement: “Martin has always been a
PEACEFUL protester because he cares about today’s society. He is also a typical
Western New Yorker who loves his family. No one from law enforcement has
suggested otherwise so we’re at a loss to understand why the president of the
United States would make such a dark, dangerous and untrue accusation against
him.”
Gugino is hardly an ANTIFA member. He is part of the Catholic Worker Movement and
a member of the Western New York Peace Center, as well with as part of a Buffalo group that advocates for economic justice and affordable
housing.
Hearing the president’s ridiculous allegation
is one thing; defending it is another, as White House Press
Secretary Kayleigh McEnany demonstrated in her input on Wednesday
morning, of course, where else but with the folks on “Fox & Friends.”
Asked about the president’s claim regarding
Gugino’s alleged affiliation with Antifa, Ms. McEnany responded with this
mouthful of crap: “So the president
was raising questions based on a report that he saw. Other questions that need
to be asked in every case, we can’t jump on one side without looking at all the
facts at play. This individual had some very questionable tweets, some
profanity-laden tweets about police officers. Of course no one condones
any sort of violence. “
So, she refers to questionable Tweets? Let’s take a look at those
As for what troubled Ms. McEnany about the event, there’s a hint in this Buffalo News item. On June 3, the day before the pushing
incident, Gugino had retweeted Emma Gonzalez, one of the survivors of the
Parkland school shootings who has herself become an activist. She wrote “Screw
the Police.” And Gugino commented on the retweet using those same
words. Yes, this phrase or worse, that
has been repeatedly used by the protesters here in Buffalo and across the
nation and even the world.
In apparently deploying profanity regarding the
police, Gugino had just joined millions upon millions of Americans.
So what bearing does McEnany believe Gugino's tweets
have on his interactions with Buffalo police?
What kind of thought-control conspiracy do we have here? Or does
Gugino’s Twitter account seriously make the conspiracy theory real, and also about
his alleged ties to Antifa?
The Post has asked McEnany why
Gugino’s tweets were so important to this case, and The Post will update
this info if they ever get a response, which they seriously doubt.
As of the next day, Gugino remained in the
hospital, but he was recuperating. As he recuperates, he faces an American
president who thinks nothing of sliming him. But it doesn’t stop there. He also faces a willing collaborator in Ms.
McEnany, someone who signed up to advance and sharpen Trump’s smears.. In other words, she’s just doing her Trump spokesperson’s job.
