THOSE PEOPLE MAY BE RIGHT: TRUMP MAY HAVE SERIOUS MENTAL ISSUES
…Our president could have some serious mental problems
The satirists that make fun of the president
may be on to something
I am once again very happy to offer a quote
from The Post’s satirist, Dana Milbank, who wrote the following:
Is President Trump losing his marbles?
(Or did he not have a full bag to begin with?)
The reality is that, as usual, Milbank’s comments
aren’t satire, they appear to be the truth.
What nice thing can you say about a president
that insulted the multi-award winning journalist, Cokie Roberts, on the
occasion of her death.
So, what did Trump say?
To quote the president: “I never met her.
She never treated me nicely. But I would like to wish her family well.”
But one day later, he declared that he “didn’t
say that”.
The point here is that Milbank was right. Trump appears to be losing his marbles. Furthermore, he is continuing to tell big
whoppers, but now he’s not able to remember what he lied about.
And as you may recall, this is the guy who
claimed he has “one of the best memories in the world.” Actually, he forgot he said that as well.
“I don’t remember saying that,” he once declared about his
memory in an actual, recorded deposition.
And just to be clear, Trump did meet Cokie Roberts
and it was at his Trump Towers, in a nationally televised interview. At the time, Cokie had said: “Thanks for
having us here at your palace.”. He replied: “It’s been a great honor.”
Here are more Trumpian examples:
- Trump
suggested that he thought Iran was responsible for the attacks on Saudi
oil, then he declared that he “didn’t say that he thought Iran was
responsible for the attack on Saudi oil.”
- While
meeting with Bahrain's crown prince, President Trump spoke about the
recent attacks on Saudi oil installations by Iran, but he denied wanting a
war with Iran.
- On
Monday, Trump did say at least twice on TV, that he would meet with Iran
with “no preconditions”. On
Sunday, he denied that he had said he would meet with Iran with
no conditions.
So, here’s another quote from Mr. Milbank: “Maybe
the president’s mind isn’t what it once was. Maybe he misrepresents past
statements to get out of trouble. Either way, while the political world focuses
on the lapses of 76-year-old Joe Biden, while the 73-year-old Trump acts as if
his frontal lobe is made of Swiss cheese.”
And here's more of Trump’s memory screw-ups:
- Trump
said of the de-nuclearization of North Korea: “I never said the pace
would be quick..” But asked months earlier about the pace of North
Korea’s denuclearization, he replied: “Very quickly. Very, very
quickly, absolutely.”
- At
a rally in North Carolina., Trump said: “I never said we were going to
get a choice of doctors for our vets.” But in 2016, he promised:
“We’re going to give our veterans the right to see the doctor of their
choice.”
- Trump
said of his border wall: “I never said, ‘I’m going to build a concrete
wall.’ I said, ‘I’m going to build a wall.’ ” But 10 months
earlier, he stood in front of a concrete wall prototype in San Diego and
said: “We’re looking very much at the wall with some see-through
capability . . . and then solid concrete on top, or steel and concrete on
top.”
- Of Obamacare,
he said, “I never said repeal it and replace it within 64 days. I have
a long time(to repeal).” Actually, what he said was, “we have
to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare — so important.”
- He
claimed that “I never said Russia did not meddle in the election.” But,
standing at Vladimir Putin’s side, he famously said, “Putin says it’s
not Russia. I don’t see any reason why it would be.”
Let’s face it, if Trump never met Cokie
Roberts, then who was that man that looks like him, talking with her in Trump
Tower on ABC’s This Week?
On Monday, Trump tweeted that Iran
stuck to “a very big lie” about a previous attack. “Now they say that
they had nothing to do with the attack on Saudi Arabia oil…..We’ll see?”
His real meaning was obvious, that they did it. But when a reporter asked him
to clarify why he thinks “Iran is responsible for the attack,”
Trump replied: “I didn’t say that.”
It is becoming very hard to take anything Trump
says as being true. Both friends and
foes alike now know that the president’s word is not to be taken seriously.
For those people that think that the president
has some serious mental problems, it is becoming hard to argue that they may be
wrong.
