WHAT SHOULD OUR PRESIDENT DO DURING THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN?

…I wonder if the president even knows how to start a truck like this?

Think about it?  What kind of job fits someone like Donald J. Trump?

As one op-ed writer wrote about president Trump: “The president needs a job.”  Since he shutdown the government, all he’s done is to sit by himself in the White House, watch his favorite show (Fox & Friends), and tweet insults at Jeff “Bozo” Bezos, the Amazon founder and chief executive (who also owns The Post, that he hates) while he's tweeting insults at Senator Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren.

With so little to keep the president busy, it’s like he has furloughed himself.  One sure thing is, the president is certainly in that group called: “non-essentials”!

Another writer suggested that with his fascination and large appetite for all Fast Foods, perhaps he would be a good choice for being a long-run, interstate truck driver.

But being that he has always had his own driver, he probably wouldn’t have a clue about how to down shift a real 18 wheeler.

Trump claims that he has been sitting alone in the White House awaiting the Democrats to pay his ransom billions for his false emergency at the border.  I say “false emergency” as 2 recent national polls agree that the American public agrees that a border wall is not “a national emergency”.  In addition, the polls show that the American public is not behind building a border wall, and they do not agree with the president taking 800,000 federal workers hostage for the ransom payment.

So far, as of this week, the government shutdown has cost the American taxpayers ~ $3.6 billion.  If the shutdown goes on 1 or 2 more weeks, which it probably will, it will have cost the $5.7 billion that Trump has asked for the next payment for his precious “Border Wall”.  (FYI: The actual, total cost for Trump’s “Wall” is expected to be 6 to 10 time the $5.7 billion, and it will take 10 years to build.)

By using “Eminent Domain” to acquire the land for his precious ”Wall”, that is expected to take 5-6 years alone, because many Texas land owners have already said they would be suing the government.

So, what kind of job could we get for our idle president?

If only there were something productive Trump could do with his idle time….?  You know, something like what the Trump administration suggests government workers do while they aren’t getting paid.

As The Post has reported, the US Coast Guard published helpful suggestions about some possible activities that the furloughed workers (or an idle president) could do while waiting to return to work.  The memo said that they could “have a garage sale,” “offer to watch children, walk pets or house-sit”.  They also suggested you could, “turn your hobby into income,” discover “untapped teaching skills and expertise” or “become a mystery shopper.”

Let’s face it, for the president, he is already housesitting and it’s highly doubtful many Americans would trust Trump with their children or pets.  He’s a bit too recognizable to pull off the “mystery-shopper routine”.  Oh, and he’s already tried using his “untapped teaching skills”.  You know, as you will of course remember, his failed and costly business teaching opportunity called the “Trump University”.

One writer has suggested that the president could seriously “turn his hobby into earning some kind of income”.

That would be if President Trump were to set up a “personal insult service”.  For a specific fee, Trump could fire off tweets attacking a client’s boss, or their competitors or even someone’s ex-spouse.  This way, the president would not only occupy himself during the shutdown, but perhaps his insults would earn enough money to pay for a portion of The Border Wall.

The writer that suggested that the president could turn his hobby into earning some income, also did some inquiries into possible additional business approaches for the president.

He had searched databases looking for jobs that appeal to those who “seek recognition” and have a “potential for leadership,” plus those positions that satisfy the need for “authority” and “social status”.  Those are all Trumpian requirements.

Of course, in looking at jobs for Donald Trump, there would be a low priority for those jobs that require maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger and avoiding aggressive behavior.

You would also need to de-emphasized jobs requiring those skills that Trump lacks.  You know, the ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.  Or in using basic logic and not interrupting at inappropriate times, but mostly in not taking the time to understand others and their feelings.

When looking for the best role for President Trump during the shutdown, there was one type of work that came up more than once for someone like the president.  It was for those people that score low in two basic areas: 1: those jobs requiring being sensitive to other people’s needs, and 2. feelings and jobs requiring being honest and ethical.

Now, I have no idea what kind of jobs have those requirements, but whatever they are, Donald Trump would be a great candidate for being hired.

One individual, after looking at these pro and con requirements has said they think that building a border wall would be a perfect job for someone with Trump’s capabilities.

So, if that’s the case, instead of moping around the White House, our furloughed president should just travel to the border and start erecting that wall that he believes in so much.

Just build the wall yourself, Mr. Trump, and let someone more capable run the government!

Sounds perfect to me!
