FORMER JUSTICE DEPT. HEAD SPEAKS OUT AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP

…David Laufman, a former US Counterintelligence Investigator

The former J.D. Head says, “Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States.”

A man appeared on Rachael Maddow’s MSNBC daily show that rarely shows up on a TV program. 

The reason for this appearance on TV was that he knew that Ms. Maddow’s show is known for offering what’s really going on in today’s Washington politics, and for his personal concern for where the country is headed under this president

The man’s name is David Laufman and he is the former Chief of the Department of Justice’s, Counterintelligence & Export Control Section.

Laufman, who had just resigned from the department last year, he had helped to oversee the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, as well as the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

During his Maddow visit he called for regular citizens to mobilize a call to arms at the highest level against this US president.

This former head of this Justice Department’s unit accused President Donald Trump of being a threat to the security of the United States.

He said that he had reached a “tipping point” after the Washington Post reported that Trump had concealed details of his meetings with Russian President Vladmir Putin from members of his own administration.  This was totally inappropriate based on what were the normal actions of former US Presidents.  Having associate members of an administration also attending a meeting of two nation's leaders avoids either nation's leader of misquoting what occurred, or as to what was agreed at the meetings.

“It’s a painful anguishing thing to acknowledge that the president of the United States is a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States,” Laufman said to Ms. Maddow.

He said he had a “moral obligation” to speak up when he sees national security undermined by government officials. “The notion that the president of the United States would be trying to conceal the details of conversations with the leader of our principal foreign adversary was positively chilling,” Laufman said. 

He also slammed Trump’s “unbelievable acquiescence” to Putin in Helsinki last year, saying it was “positively shocking” to many US and NATO security officials. 

The investigative unit that Laufman used to lead “supervises the investigation and prosecution of cases affecting national security, foreign relations, and the export of military and strategic commodities and technology.” This is according to the DOJ’s website.

This J.D. unit also authorizes “the prosecution of cases under criminal statutes relating to espionage, sabotage, neutrality and atomic energy.” 

Laufman had served in the administrations of both President Barack Obama and President George W. Bush.  Laufman had begun his career in 1980 as a CIA analyst. 

It is expected that more American patriots such as Mr. Laufman will be just as concerned as he is, and that will be showing up on Rachael Maddow’s show or perhaps other MSNBC host’s shows in the near future.

Hopefully, some US patriots will also show up on the Fox Network, but I won't hold my breath waiting for that to occur.
