TRUMP CAUGHT LYING TO U.S. TROOPS
..Trump visited in Iraq and lied about troops pay
raises.
Trump tells military that he had approved a
pay increase that was 7.4% more than the actual raise.
It’s a total disgrace for the
Commander-in-Chief to lie to American troops.
With regards to President Trump, the kids on
the block should be jumping rope to the old saying: “Liar, Liar Pants on Fire!!!”
As of this week, the nation’s fact checkers
have confirmed that in just 700 days Trump has told 7,546 lies or misleading
statements.
But this week, he really out did himself, and
he did it by telling a giant lie to our US military. He did this by saying that he had
gotten them the biggest raise in more than 10 years. His exact words were:
“You haven’t gotten one in more than 10 years… more than 10 years, and
we got you a big one. I got you a big one! I got you a big one!” He continued: “They said: ‘You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3%. We could make
it 2%. We could make it 4%.’ I said: ‘No. Make it 10%t. Make it more than 10%.’
”
This is all a large pile of horse manure.
And it’s a falsehood that Trump has repeated
before. The president made it even worse, by making similar statements in May
to a gathering of military mothers and spouses no less.
“We
just approved $700 billion for our military,” Trump said at the time.
“So, we’re going to be having the best equipment
ever known. And next year, $716 billion. So, I wanted to let you know. And, by the way,
I know you don’t care about this, but that also includes raises for our
military. First time in 10 years.”
All not true.
As the Washington
Post’s Philip Rucker and Paul Sonne reported, the pay raise Trump
authorized this year was 2.6%, not 10%. And it wasn’t the first time for a
raise in 10 years, because the troops have received a pay raise every year for
many decades.
According to the US Defense Department,
active members of the military have received a pay increase every year since
1983.
During a speech to Naval Academy graduates,
he made a similar false statement: “We just got you a big pay raise. First time
in 10 years,” he said. “I fought for
you. That was the hardest one to get, but you never had a chance of losing.”
BULL!!!!
The raise for the military that was approved
in Trump’s first year in office was 2.4%, for 2018. The Military Times reported that
Trump’s initial pay-raise proposal was 2.1%, but the lawmakers, not Trump, approved the higher 2.4%
mark.
The 2.6% pay raise authorized for 2019
is the largest in the past nine years.
Of course, the White House did not respond to a request for any comment.
It’s bad enough that our president is the “Liar-in-Chief” to his supporters and
the general public, but giving bare-faced lies to our men and women in uniform
is a serious disgrace.
