DICK CHENEY: THE FORMER “PINOCCHIO” VICE PRESIDENT
…The Pinocchio VP Himself
This VP lied before, during, and
now after serving as the nation’s vice president.
Millions of us
just had to shake our heads in wonder upon hearing the former Vice President
Dick Cheney say that he could not conceive of any president that has caused
more devastation to a nation than President Obama.
As was pointed
out by the former Daily Show host, Jon
Stewart, “To answer this question,
all Dick Cheney needs to do is first to look at his former boss, and then take
a look in the mirror.”
In the Cheney interview on Fox News, he also blamed the current president for making Iran into “the most terrible regime I can think of”. Once again, for finding the real person to blame for Iran,
this former VP just needs one more look in the mirror.
This is the same former vice president that supported the Muslim, “Nouri Kamil Mohammed Hasan al-Maliki” to become the first Prime
Minister (PM) of Iraq after the US coalition of nations ousted the dictator
Saddam Hussein.
The
original idea was to select a strong, but inclusive Prime Minister that would
bring together both of Iraq’s Muslim groups of Shia and Sunni as well as Iraq’s
Kurds. This approach could still
keep Iraq as a strong nation to balance out the middle east Muslim nations of
Iraq and Iran.
But, as
has been agreed by most middle eastern experts, the selection of al Maliki was
the absolute worst choice for an interim Iraqi PM.
First,
al Maliki was anything but inclusive and the right choice for bringing the Sunni’s and the
Shia together. Maliki is a “dyed-in-the-wool” Shiite and he only
appointed Shia’s to important positions in the new Iraqi government. Maliki ignored the Sunni’s and the Kurd’s
through-out his time as the PM. In fact,
Maliki drove many former Sunni military men out of Iraq and to join the terrorist group ISIS.
Except for being anti-Saddam, why
Maliki was originally chosen is a very big mystery.
It has become well understood that the war did nothing for America but
cost the deaths of thousands of American troops, hundreds of thousands of
innocent Iraqi citizens and about a Trillion American dollars.
The real winner in the war was the Shia
nation of Iran. Instead of Iraq being an
adversary of Iran for keeping a national balance in the area, Iraq today is a
major benefactor of Iran. And I wonder
Mr. Cheney, just whose fault was that?
Maliki
was such a career Shiite against Hussein, Saddam had exiled Maliki from
Iraq. Maliki eventually ended up living
over 20 years in Tehran, Iran, and was beholden and indebted to their leader,
Iran’s Shia Ayatollah.
Even
Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense
for both President Bush and President Obama has stated in an interview on Meet The Press that the invasion of
Iraq strengthened Iran and made them into a state sponsor of terrorism.
What is
even more ridiculous about Cheney’s accusations against President Obama making
Iran into the “worst regimen ever”,
is that it was Dick Cheney, before he left Haliburton, that asked that the
sanctions against Iran to be lifted. As it
turns out, Cheney’s company, Haliburton had worked through a foreign subsidiary
and opened an office in Iran to do business with them before he ran for VP with George
W. Bush.
For Dick
Cheney to say anything against the current administration is the highest level
of absurdity. If this man were
Pinocchio, his nose would need training-wheels.
As PolitiFact once said of Dick Cheney, “Fact checking Dick Cheney is a full-time
endeavor”.
