WHAT A SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENCY LOOKS LIKE

…The new Senate Majority Leader, telling it like it isn’t.

After the mid-terms, I hope the public is fully prepared for hearing weeks and weeks of bare-face lies from the right.

It was not even a full week after the mid-term elections and the Republican leadership is already standing behind a podium and lying directly to the American public.

The new Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, just stood there during a press conference saying that the jobs to be offered by the Keystone Pipeline were, in his exact words, “stunning”.  That lie has been totally debunked time, after time, after time, but there he was lying about Keystone again.

The truth is that the pipeline will have about 2000, 2-3 year temporary jobs, and later, 50 permanent jobs.  That’s it!

Based on those figures, maybe McConnell’s comment was actually correct.  It is pretty stunning as to how “few jobs” the Keystone Pipeline would be offering.

Then, in the next breath, McConnell says that the nations needs to get behind the “energy revolution”.  What the hell is he talking about?

The US is today pumping more oil out of the ground than ever and the US is as energy independent as is possible in today’s fossil-fuel world.

I think of the energy revolution as being that in alternate energy sources versus fossil fuels.  However, McConnell’s comment is referring to dropping wind and solar energy efforts, and just pushing for more, “Drill, Baby Drill”.  Now McConnell says he will sponsor the idea of adding a Keystone Pipeline approval addendum to every bill sent from the Senate to the president.

So, about this same time, good ole House Speaker John Boehner was also saying it’s time to push the Keystone Pipeline for approval.  This is even though the Nebraska State Supreme Court is still deciding whether the pipeline can use “eminent domain” for building the pipeline across the sensitive Nebraska aquifers.

The House Speaker is also calling one more time for the House to repeal Obamacare.  He continues to use the term, “repeal and replace”, but he never says what programs from his party should replace Obamacare….?  (Hint: There are none.)

…Speaker Boehner, also spreading the B.S.
After all this "stuff". from the Republicans. one liberal organization last week put out a one page list saying, “This is what a successful US Presidency looks like:”

The list looked like this:

Column one was; 2009 When Obama took Office:

Dow Jones Index: 7,949
Unemployment: 7.8%
GDP Growth: -5.4%
Deficit % of GDP: 9.8%
Consumer Confidence: 37.7%

Column two was: Today 2014:

Dow Jones: 17,573 (Highest ever)
Unemployment: 5.8%
GDP Growth: +3.5%
Deficit % of GDP: 2.8%
Consumer Confidence: 94.5%

The final comment was that over the last 6 years, more new jobs had been created in the US than all other develop nations “combined”.

And all of this as the well-known conservative pundit, George Will, had called the Obama presidency a “failure”.

I rest my case.
