GEORGE WILL: HE CONFUSES “DIGNITY” WITH PURE ARROGANCE

…Really George, you think Mitch McConnell would bring “Dignity”?

Thinking of Mitch McConnell as “dignified” would be laughable, if it weren’t so frightening.

You know, you can tell when a person is starting to lose it, when they start commenting about issues totally beyond any level of basic common sense.  That is exactly what we are starting to hear on a regular basis from the conservative Washington Post columnist, Mr. George Will.

First, he started saying weeks ago that climate science is false and that he doesn’t believe in climate change or global warming.  He also said “Waterboarding is fine, just as long as it works.”  Mr. Will doesn’t believe that the GOP has a “war on women” and last week, counter to the CDC, he tried to sell the idea that you can get the Ebola virus from an airborne sneeze.  He is now also saying that he is totally against increasing the federal minimum wage.

But his latest "off-the-wall" statement is that by re-electing the Senate Minority Leader, Kentucky Senator, Mitch McConnell, it will, “bring dignity to the Senate”.

WHAT!

Yes, Mr. George Will is seriously referring to the same Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, that is the “Poster Child” for the do-nothing US Congress that currently has a positive public approval rating of 9%.  This is the lowest Congressional public approval in history….ever!

Mr. Will says that leader-McConnell’s, “skills have been honed through his five terms in office”.  But many of us believe that McConnell’s 30 GOP years in the US Senate is a very big part of today’s grid-lock problems in Washington politics.  Yes, this the same Mitch McConnell whose one major goal, which horribly failed, was to make President Obama a one-term president.

Against all common sense, this is the Senate Minority Leader that has blocked the following:
The jobs bill; the infrastructure bill; US Veteran’s funding bill; and he has even filibustered a bill that he himself had personally introduced.

George Will now talks about how upset Senator McConnell is that the Senate is not operating as it should where every senator’s vote is an opportunity for developing a consensus.  If that is truly the case, why is Minority Leader McConnell generally known as the “filibuster king”? McConnell is regularly referred to as “Senator No, No, No!”

Mr. Will, from my point-of-view, has totally confused the idea of senate “dignity”, with McConnell’s pure conceit and arrogance.  McConnell has recently stated that, “…under Republican leadership, the Senate would be restored as the creator of consensus”.  If he is so set on bringing a consensus to the US Senate, why does he work so hard and strong against anything the Democrats present, instead of attempting to work with them?  Mitch McConnell's only idea of "consensus" is if the Democrats agreed with everything his Republicans present.  Now in a democracy, how in hell is that approach supposed to bring about a "senate consensus"?

…George Will: When you become a “Fox News Contributor", it’s time to start thinking about retiring.

Once again, George Will is showing us his advancing age and that he is even more out-of-touch with reality than Senator McConnell, who by-the-way is the single most unpopular of all the US Senators.  And to be more “out-of-touch” than the Kentucky senator is very hard to do.

From where most of us sit, it is apparently time for Mr. Will to submit an application for writing a twice-weekly column for “The Onion”, and to please begin stepping away from writing his conservative columns for the Washington Post.

I've personally had more-than-enough of the conservative, George Will, and he should now stick with writing his books about baseball.  This is a subject that he really does know something about.
