OUR PATHETIC AMERICAN PRESIDENT
…This is the “fake” TIME cover found in Trump’s golf resorts
and hotels.
President Trump uses the excuse of
“Fake news!” to conceal his jaw-dropping ignorance.
I have to
admit that the president's propensity for lying is getting to be even more
interesting. As an example, President
Trump tweeted that Time magazine was contemplating naming him the “Person
of the Year” for a second year in a row, but he stated that he pulled
himself out of the running because he didn’t want to participate in an
interview and photo shoot.
As is usual,
this is all a bunch of horse manure
An editor for Time
responded to Trump’s comment by saying that the call was not for another, “Person
of the Year” cover. Time just
wanted an interview and photo shoot. It
was added by a former Time editor that Trump surely still had copies of his made-up, “fake”, Time Trump cover issue somewhere
in storage that he could take out and admire.
More and more
I am beginning to believe that along with Trump’s narcissism, the
president is developing a serious level of dementia.
You may recall
that one of the few times that Trump has ever apologized for anything, was when
he went on national TV and admitted to what he had said in the Access
Hollywood video about grabbing women’s genitals. Yes, he admitted that he said it, and then he
apologized. Now Trump is saying that he
thinks that video was a “fake”.
What normal
and sane person, has fake Time magazine cover photo’s made up
and displayed in their hotels and businesses? Then they admit and apologize for blatant sexual
harassment on national TV, and later say that what he had apologized for didn’t
even happen.....? (BTW: Representatives of Access
Hollywood went on TV and quickly assured the public that the video with
Trump and Billy Bush was real, and because of it, Billy lost his job at AH.)
So now, President
Trump says that he has pulled out of the running for another “Person
of the Year” cover because he didn’t want to participate in an
interview and photo shoot. I would
suspect that he doesn’t want to answer the type of questions that would come
from a Time Magazine interview.
This man never turns own the opportunity to be presented with the pomp
and circumstance that comes from this kind of publicity, especially like a Time
Magazine cover. But he has lied
so much over his first year in office, the Time’s editors would obviously go
for some answers to all those lies.
It wasn’t that
long ago that the Washington Post's David A. Fahrenthold first showed the fake Time magazine
cover that he confirmed was being displayed in at least two of President Trump's golf
resorts. Later reports said that the
fake Time
covers had quickly disappeared from both the golf resorts and from other Trump buildings.
Seriously,
just imagine a self-described billionaire, a man who beat the odds and won the American
presidency. A man who is now the most
powerful man in the world, but he feels he has to make up a story to explain
why he says he won’t be allowing a magazine to give him a cover story. That’s
how needy Trump is, even as president of the United States.
Trump has long
been obsessed with having his face on the cover of magazines and even all those lurid
supermarket tabloids, but Trump especially idolized the Time magazine covers. (If you
ever have seen pictures of his office in Trump Towers, it is a sanctuary to Donald
Trump with every magazine or newspaper cover and his awards and golf
trophies on all the walls and shelves.) He has compared himself to being a “supermodel, except for him, it’s supermodel times
10”. Many of his golf resorts are
decorated with these same covers, including up until recently, the
fake March 2009 Time cover that featured the real
estate developer and proclaimed: “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS . . . EVEN TV!”
Before he
became our president, no one cared about this man’s narcissistic self-regard. But given this individual’s loathsome
character, is the danger that his total self-absorption poses to the presidency. Also, to
the country, to our democracy and to the West. This nation is now in serious
jeopardy.
Trump’s bottomless well of insecurity makes him a sitting duck for
authoritarian leaders such as Vladimir Putin who are well-versed in the art of "Trump
Flattery". In addition, Trump’s self-absorption
make him incurious about anything other than in himself. As someone who asserts he knows more than
anyone else, he cannot and will not learn from others who are smarter or well
informed.
Trump’s personal
defects make him unwilling to give up on his grudges, he is also unable to let
go of small matters such as those NFL athletes kneeling, or the size of his
rally crowds. He is also totally unequipped
to control his anger and unmoved by others’ expectation that he should show them any
loyalty. But he demands total
loyalty from all those around him.
Trump’s tweets
today are a form of his personal therapy as he babbles on and on about his
obsessions, fears and resentments. He
doesn’t realize that this trait is making him the object of even more ridicule
and total contempt. Even more than 80%
of his polled voters and supporters, they have said they would like for him to
stop tweeting and to concentrate on completing more of his campaign promises. Ain't going to happen.
Donald J.
Trump is making a comment made by the former First Lady, Michelle Obama, more true
than President Trump would ever want to admit.
That comment was: “Being president
doesn’t change who you are, it reveals who you are.” We now know exactly who Donald J. Trump is…..and
it ain’t pretty.
One Washington
Post writer put Donald Trump into the proper perspective when she
wrote: “He [Trump] never bothers to
concentrate on intellectual pursuits or to learn from others before; he’s a know-it-all,
know-nothing, who relies on his aides to clean up his gaffes and he deploys the
excuse of “Fake news!” to conceal his jaw-dropping ignorance. Unfortunately,
Trump has virtually no redeeming qualities to counterbalance all his
inadequacies.”
Some people
say that Trump’s troubles have only just begun, but it appears that he has no
concept of what trouble is headed his way. This is especially with the potential charges facing former
campaign personnel such as Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Mike Flynn, Mike Flynn
Jr., and George Papadopoulos. And let's not forget his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Stay tuned, as
the song says, “It’s Only Just Begun.”
