AMERICA’S MESSAGE: “I’M MAD AS HELL & NOT TAKING IT ANY MORE!
…President Elect Trump
America’s two parties are both in
need of refocusing and re-organization.
OK, we already
knew that 75% of the country had been saying that “the country was headed down the wrong track”. Apparently, this election of a wealthy mogul and
a former, pro-choice Democrat, is what the American voting population thinks is
the answer.
Let’s face it,
both political parties have to look at what happened last night and then decide
what needs to be done to get back to their own political basics.
The Democrats
showed during the primaries, with the strong popular support of Bernie Sanders,
that the party needed to go back to it’s support of the average working
American, regardless of race, sex or ethnicity.
The progressive party needs to get back to supporting free high education
for everyone, available cost-effective health care, equal pay for equal work
and support for the basic family unit.
There was a
reason that FDR and the New Deal were elected four times, as the
nation was at the time in the process of growing the first ever, massive middle-class
nation.
Today, the
Dems are a combination of aging Boomers, and young Millennials that are hungry
for what was being offered by Bernie, Elizabeth Warren and other progressives.
As to the
Republicans, it appears that they may be in control of the government, but
their party is today split into four separate ideologies.
Today we have
the following four Republican parties:
>>> There
is the conventional GOP that is
represented by Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham and others, plus the
Bush family, and of course, all those aging white conservatives.
>>> Then
there’s the white nationalists that were represented by Donald Trump’s Campaign
CEO, Bannon, and the many white men & women without a college degrees that fueled Trump’s
many rallies.
>>> And
we can’t forget there’s the Tea Party
Republicans that don’t agree with anyone in their party, or with anyone else.
>>>
Finally, there the Republicans that believe the nation was founded as a
Christian nation and that it should just continue as one.
The American
voting public told Washington last night that, just as the Howard Beale character said in the movie “Network”: “I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it
anymore!”
All the
support for this true outsider, non-politician, Donald Trump, was the nation’s
citizen’s way of saying that the obstructionists approach that has occurred
over the past 8 years was going to have to stop.
The nation
wants the politicians they have put in office to get the people’s work done. To
get to work on fixing the nation’s infrastructure and to fund the jobs needed
to get that job done. Hey want the US to
continue to be the best in the new technologies, the best in transportation,
and to have the most modern and powerful military and to be the best in national
security.
The lack of
congressional action over the last 8 years, the lack of jobs, lack of available re-education
and the lack of free higher education, have all caused this kind of mass
reaction.
The voting
public is also saying that today there is one set of rules for the American elite,
and one set of rules for the rest of the country. After Wall
Street and the big banks caused the worst financial crisis back in 2008,
and many Americans lost their savings, their jobs, and their homes……not one
individual that caused all of that went to jail.
It's issues like that, are what this
election was about.
Was electing this president the
right decision? We won’t know the answer
until it’s understood that those in control have gotten the message.
The next 4
years will now tell us if electing a lying ignoramus, a racist, a xenophobe and
a dangerous narcissist as the President
of the United States was the answer to what the voters were seeking.
After last night, there are many open political wounds.....let the healing begin.
