JEB BUSH IS UNABLE TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS BROTHER

…Jeb Bush, receiving the truth about brother George.

It takes a young, female college student to tell the truth to the former president’s brother.

It was heartening to see the 19 year-old Nevada college student, Ivy Ziedrich, rightly take-on and inform Jeb Bush that "your brother created ISIS".  The truth is that it has been established for years that the development of the Islamic State (ISIS / ISIL) was well underway while George W. Bush was still residing in the nation’s Oval Office.

It was also highly disappointing when this same, still unofficial, 2016 Republican candidate, Mr. Jeb Bush, later falsely stated that "ISIS didn't exist when my brother was president.  Al Qaeda in Iraq was wiped out when my brother was President."  Both statements totally untrue.

The reality is that when US representatives took over the government in Baghdad, Iraq, and then disbanded 400,000 of Saddam's army, these previous Sunni Iraqi officers then flocked to al Qaeda.  In fact, al Qaeda had been a non-factor in Iraq before the US invasion.  But after the invasion and the army’s disbanding, these new Sunni-Iraqi / al Qaeda members were found to be specifically targeting American officers and troops in Iraq.

The obvious outcome of this total US mismanagement of post-Saddam Iraq was so bad, Dubya’s somewhat dense Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, even he had to warn his boss in late 2002 of the problems between Iraqi’s Sunni and Shia Muslims.  According to the records, Rumsfeld told President Bush, "Iraq could experience ethnic strife among their Sunni, Shia, and Kurds".  He stated that the result could be that, "it [Iraq] could fracture into two or three pieces, to the detriment of the Middle East and the benefit of Iran."

Rumsfeld was not known for being on top of the war issues, but in this case he was totally correct about Iraq’s ethnic strife, and the situation has only gotten worse in the years since the US invasion.

It was also under the leadership of the current ISIL leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, that the recruitment of former Iraqi Baathist Sunni officers became a deliberate ISIL strategy.  This is according to US analysts and former US officers.  The German news organization Der Spiegel has explained that it has become obvious that President Bush's "de-Ba'athification" and disbanding of Saddam's military meant that "thousands of well-trained Iraqi Sunni officers were robbed of their livelihood with the stroke of an American presidential pen."

These Sunni officers and local Iraqi police could have been used by the American military invasion force, just as many of the Germans and Japanese were still employed for security at the end of WWII.  Instead, the Iraqi's were fired by the Bush administration and sent out to eventually join a new enemy.

In 2006, al Qaeda in Iraq, (AQI) was believed to have helped establish the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) that later became the Islamic State of Iraq & Levant (ISIL).  ( “Levant” is an ancient area of the middle east that contained Syria, Iraq, Jordan and others)  ISIL is an umbrella terrorist organization of Sunni insurgent groups with similar aims as AQI.

In any case, ISIL, or whatever you want to call these terrorists, is now in control of half of Iraq and half of Syria, including their major oil reserves and refineries for keeping ISIL fully financed.

So, the 19 year old college student was correct, and just like his and other Republican comments questioning “climate change” and its negative effect on our national security, Jeb Bush is also wrong about his brother and the forming of the Islamic State in the middle east.  The disaster of the invasion of Iraq and the forming of the Islamic State can be laid at the doorstep of the George W. Bush Administration…. period.

I’m hoping there are many of these young voters that know the truth when it’s time to go into the voting booth in 2016.
