ONCE AGAIN, FOX’S BILL O’REILLY DISRESPECTS HIS OWN U.S. PRESIDENT

…Bill “Blow-Hard” O’Reilly

President Obama refused to be provoked in O'Reilly's third Fox interview.

In one way, I was really proud of how President Obama reacted in his dealing with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly during the 10 minute Fox interview before the Super Bowl.  But I was also very disappointed in another way.

This was the third time the president has agreed to an interview with the insulting Fox exaggerator.

Each time he has met with the president, O’Reilly has gotten increasingly disrespectful of this president.  But his time he showed total disrespect for both the man, and the office of the most powerful man in the world.

O’Reilly is actually very fortunate that the president is not the dictator that those on Fox continually claim that he is for using the same power that all the previous presidents have used. That being the power of the “Executive Order”.
(Explanation: The Republican Chairman of the Budget Committee, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), said last week that, “The president is making laws, but that’s the business of the Congress.”  However, since this is now the “do nothing” Congress, President Obama has decided to use his presidential powers to get some things done for the American people.)

The great thing about this country is that if the president were a dictator as was Iraq’s Saddam Hussein or Syria’s Assad, as insulting as O’Reilly was being to the president, Mr. O’Reilly’s head would no longer be attached to his shoulders.

The reason I am not happy with the president is that if it had been George W. Bush being disrespected in this way from an interviewer like O'Reilly, Bush would have gotten up and ended the interview, which president Obama should have done.  During this interview, O’Reilly interrupted the president 42 times, he waved a finger and a pen in the president’s face and he shook his head negatively at the president’s answers.

It was a disgusting display of disrespect for this man's very own president.

In addition, here’s how O’Reilly’s interview time with the president was spent.

O’Reilly focused 40% of his time on the attacks on US facilities in Benghazi, 30% on the Obamacare rollout and 20% on the IRS targeting.  Every one of these issues has been investigated by independent committees and organizations and the answers have been published and settled as to the administration’s involvement.  However, this is what the very small base of Fox viewers want discussed because it’s what the Foxtrash-talkers” keep bringing up over and over on their network.

Now, what I’m proud of the president is that during the whole interview, he sat back and smiled comfortably.  He was totally un-intimidated, and instead of a tie, he wore an open neck shirt.  He sat with legs comfortably crossed and he refused to be provoked into a stupid discussion over issues that have already been settled.  More than once he made a comment as to why these items keep coming up for Bill’s viewers such as, “These kinds of things keep on surfacing, in part, because you [Bill O’Reilly] and your TV station promote them.”

So, after all this nonsense, Bill ended his interview with the following:

O’Reilly read a letter from a California woman asking Obama, “Why do you feel it’s necessary to fundamentally transform the nation?” This turned out to be a trick question.

Obama answered: “I don’t think we have to fundamentally transform the nation….. ”  he was once again interrupted by Bill with: “But these are your words.”

Here’s the trick.

Before Barack Obama was elected way back in 2008, he had stated, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  He went on to say this transformation would end the “politics that would divide a nation.”

Unfortunately, about that time, the Republicans were in the process of planning that if Senator John McCain did not win, they would start working on making President Obama a one term president.  The Republicans would do this by not supporting anything Obama would present to Congress.  And that is exactly what they have done.

Fortunately, the one term president idea didn’t work out for the GOP, and in the Republican’s efforts against the president, they have also begun turning their own party into a minority political party.

Unfortunately, Obama’s hope for ending the politics that divides the nation has also failed.
