TRUMP HAS NO INTENTION OF GIVING UP HIS POWER AS PRESIDENT

Everyone in “Trump World” is a tool to be used by Trump.

 

A columnist for the New York Times has stated that: “America’s most dangerous weeks are still ahead of us.”  I will state below the areas that he says the president has been planting the seeds for the power that he still holds and what we can expect, if the election continues to go as it has so  far.

One must accept the fact that Trump will do whatever he can with his power over the military, the Justice Department and the nation’s intelligence apparatus.  It is obvious that he has tasted a level of power that he can’t imagine a world where he has that power withdrawn from him. 

He is already aware that he has the Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance, staring down at him for facing his charges of dodging illegal financial issues, which will occur as soon as he leaves office.  So staying in office gives him another 4 years to dodge that bullet.

The other area that is as bothersome to him as the constant questioning of the size of his inauguration crowds, is that he would be receiving the supremely embarrassing rebuke from being, both the third president to ever be impeached, and if he becomes the first president to not be re-elected in 28 years.

The pandemic will still be raging that he has so tragically mismanaged and that he feels no obligation to deal with.  And remember, he says that they have the pandemic, “under control” and they are, “…rounding the turn”.  All false, but its just another Trump lie.

The reality is that he is a powerful man that is wounded, afraid and highly dangerous.  Everyone should be prepared for the possibility of violence as his supporters are like those of cult followers or religious fanatics that could do ultimately violent activities in their support of this fanatic president.

The Washington Post reported early last month that the Justice Department is planning to station officials in a command center at the FBI headquarters to coordinate the response to any violence  that occurs due to voting irregularities.

Police departments across the country are preparing to confront unrest. 

Stores are boarding up their facilities and 120 individuals from 60 retail brands attended a video conference hosted by the National Retail Federation which involved special training for store employees on how to de-escalate tensions among customers.  The trade group hired security consultants who have prepped retailers around the country for when the poles close and as the ballots are being counted.  In others words, right now.

Facebook is even preparing for violence as is the Wall Street Journal.  Teams at both companies “have planned  for the possibility of trying to calm election-related conflicts across the country”.  They are even employing the same tactics that have previously been used in countries such as Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

This is so like the Trump presidency, especially when Trump’s supporters tend to only believe what Trump saved versus anyone that may disagree with what the president says.  The Trump presidency is so unprecedented and outrageous that many Americans are making preparations for the presidential election to be strung out, and there will be a need for them to make many special preparations.

The Brookings Institute sees the prospect of violence being particularly high. They have stated, “The broader pool of potential extremists has grown during Covid requirements for being home and online.  Some Americans are consuming vast quantities of propaganda and disinformation.”  Therefore, a relatively small number of people could actually mobilize to become extremely violent. The November election has increasingly been seen as a “winner-take-all-contest” with no room for those who don’t identify with one side or the other.

As of today, no signs point to the possibility of a peaceful transition of power for the most powerful office in the world.

Remember that Trump has said for months that, “the only way he would lose, was if the election was rigged and it was stolen from him”.  He has continued to signal that he has no intention to surrender his power.

It must be understood that from day one, everyone in “Trump World” is a tool to be used by Trump.  He will use whomever he needs, “to fill his coffers, to stoke his ego  and to protect his power”.

As the New York Times reporter stated:  “Trump will watch his country burn while he warms himself by the blaze.”

I whole heartedly agree, just based on my personal knowledge of Donald J. Trump.
