WHERE IS TRUMP'S STRATEGY HEADED?
…The so called “Squad”.
Trump’s M.O. is obvious: It is to create chaos,
distract the masses, look mad as hell and blame everyone else.
I will be one of those that says I am not in
agreement with what the four female freshmen representatives known now as “The
Squad” are trying to sell with their politics. And even though the president hasn’t the gall
to actually name them, I will identify them.
They are: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.),
Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.).
Now, all these women were born in this country,
except for Omar, who came to the United States as a refugee from Somalia more
than 20 years ago and is a naturalized US citizen. She and Tlaib are Muslim. That’s their basic description.
“The Squad”, held a news conference Monday
to decry Trump’s tweets and warn that his comments were just his way of distracting
from the real issues. But Trump's racist
strategy is to just tell “The Squad” to “go back to where they came
from”, but I think that approach will not age very well as most of
them were born here.
This week, Trump had one of his caustic and gaudy
campaign events in North Carolina, where in 2016, he had barely won. But he once again he told the congresswomen
to “go back” to their countries.
This statement is one of the oldest historical statements of total racism
and nativism. The voters will eventually
decide if this is approach is effective, but to me it just shows how desperate
Trump has become in his election strategy.
Oh yes, of courses, the fans at his campaign
event gobbled up his comments about “The Squad”, and they started
chanting “send them back, send them back”.
This was Trump being his usual nativist,
racist, xenophobic and shameless self, while directing a manufactured drama in
his usual, so called, “charming way”. This was Trump lathering up his perpetually
lathered base way ahead of the 2020 election, and his purpose is to make the four freshmen
women as the face of the Democratic Party.
No, not just to make these four women look extremely
radical, but to brand the whole Democratic party as being behind everything these
four women are selling.
The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, tried
to strike the appropriate profile of the leader of a free nation by reminding
Trump that his neighbor to the north welcomes immigrants and that diversity
makes Canada that much stronger. But as
usual, Trump just ignored this comment from our friendly neighbor. Trump still refuses to admit that as a
nation, we are also greater, due to our diversity.
The president’s modus operandi (MO) is totally obvious:
It is to create chaos, distract the masses, look mad as hell, then take care of
business his way.
One individual has even said that because more
and more videos are appearing showing how involved Trump had been with the
convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, and that could end up being very bad
for Trump. Epstein is the billionaire financier,
sex offender, globe-trotter, and now the alleged sex trafficker of teenage
girls.
Could some of Trump’s efforts be to distract
the public from that former relationship?
Even though, November 2020 is a long way off, anyone who was ever
connected to Jeffery Epstein must be sweating about now.
Just look at what has been found out about Epstein
as of today.
While Trump was doubling down on his latest
controversial tweets about “The Squad”, Epstein was attending his own bail
hearing. At the hearing, prosecutors
revealed that the contents of a locked safe in Epstein’s $77 million dollar Manhattan
mansion including a number of loose diamonds, cash, and a bogus, outdated passport
with Epstein’s photograph. However, the
passport had a different name than Epstein and the address was in Saudi Arabia. Is that just a coincidence? I don’t think so.
What is clear, is that Trump wants to distance
himself from Epstein, whom he was close with socially, as photos and
multiple videos have captured. In one
video for instance, Epstein and Trump were the only two males attending a Mar-A-Lago
party attended by a number of beautiful young women. Yes, that was a pretty
intimate “bromance”.
It’s also clear that the very private Epstein
had received very special legal treatment despite his former illegal activities. This included a very rare 2007 non-prosecution
agreement negotiated by the now outgoing labor Secretary of Labor, Alexander
Acosta. Acosta has now agreed to step
down from his secretary positions after reports detailed his role in the
sweetheart Epstein deal when he was a US attorney in Miami.
The bogus passport with Epstein’s
picture and a different name opens a Pandora’s box of questions.
Who
knows what Epstein was up to? Who else might in the future be implicated? All those diamonds and cash suggest that
Epstein was prepared to pick-up and leave at a moment’s notice.
With Robert Mueller’s testimony coming up next
week, and all the more US representatives signing up for impeaching the
president, this complicated story has only just begun.
